i’ve been so caught up in the episode ending i haven’t even talked about how important it is to me that larry Canonically went through the gay kid canon event of trying to be good at sports and failing horribly

interesting things learned from this band interview

noah thinks that had things been different, larry wouldn’t have wanted to be a vampire and would not take to immortality well (which i absolutely agree with and will have to write a thing about soon!).

salamander has a mango vape tied to his bass that everyone constantly was hitting. which is canon to me.

noah thinks that larry was the one who first got alex into music (a win for me!)

larry has imposter syndrome and feels he is always kind of posturing his way through life in regards to not being as good a musician as he wants to be. so when alex leaves, he doesn’t fight harder to stop him because in that moment he wonders how it would be without him around and if he can finally have room to breath without constantly being compared to his younger, more talented brother. (“imagine me without the burden of her” type situation just rip my heart out)

ryan intentionally played it as if salamander and larry were a thing (“[salamander’s] two loves were lestat and [larry]” another a win for me!)

going back to that first point, the band didn’t discuss turning into vampires prior to but it was definitely an idea that was forming for a while. noah feels larry could kind of sense that might be where the situation was heading and that also played a part in his leaving (larry’s been beaten down so bad he feels he’s not even good enough to become a vampire).

what’s kind of funny is that — for however shockingly violent larry’s death was, as far as deaths-orchestrated-by-armand standards go???? it was kind. there was no torture for six days. no grand play he was made to witness. larry was simply there one moment, gone the next. at the very least, he was given the mercy of a quick death (smth i fear is not going to be extended to the rest of the band).

i had a sad thought

what are the odds that becoming a vampire will undo whatever mind fuck armand placed on alex and he’ll realize he unintentionally helped plant the seed that drove his brother to suicide

that fucking episode man…… i knew it was coming but jesus christ nobody look at me i’m in mourning

larry’s thoughts being consumed with worry about alex drinking again and it affecting his playing. him spiraling about being a bad musician. quitting the band because he feels they can do better without him. the way we learn in talamasca that vampire suggestion is a suggestion but it’s easier to make people do things they already want to do themselves……. fuck off i hate this show (that’s a lie this episode was beautiful i’m just SAD)

real tak tho it’s actually very endearing that larry seemed to be downplaying tour life while on the phone with alex (or at least, i’m assuming it was alex. his only other friends are all on the bus lmao) talking abt how repetitive and boring it was on the road and how terrible it was sharing space. it’s like he didn’t want alex to feel like he was missing out.

things i loved abt this episode

the band scrambling like bugs when you lift up a rock trying to get rid of all the drugs. everyone was so nonchalant and incredibly chill and nobody overreacted at all. 10/10.

salamander making fun of larry and going “are you gonna stop bitching now” in the background during alex’s returns AAAAA shut up he missed his little brother so much to the point where he was being ANNOYING about how much he missed him all the terrible brother allegations found DEAD in ohio!!!

the bonding!!!! lestat is so amused by them and humors their terrible ideas the same way i humor my baby cousins during family gatherings akdjdhf and them being the first thing he asks about when he sees armand in the bus???? the band is lestat’s circus and those are his monkeys they are now bonded do NOT separate them

life update! my dog ended up having to undergo emergency surgery to remove an obstruction so unfortunately, larry is being put on hiatus for the moment. my baby is doing okay but she is my priority right now and i need to make sure her recovery goes smoothly. thank you all for understanding <3

it’s been two days post surgery and she’s doing okay! she’s on a lot of meds and it’ll be a few weeks before she’s fully recovered but she’s already eating and drinking small amounts and able to go potty by herself so it’s the small wins. we’re taking it day by day. thank you to everyone who sent well-wishes, it means a whole lot <3 bonus mugshot of the dumb baby under the cut.
