Thank heaven for sewers.
An exhibit curated by teens at the Brooklyn Historical Society delves into the history of the Brooklyn sewer system.
A group of teens have uncovered the secrets of the sewers.
Brooklyn Sewers: What’s Up Down There? officially opened on June 9, 2015. Our president, Deborah Schwartz opened the exhibit and Director of Education Emily Potter-Ndiaye introduced the program and Ex Lab students. Hongyi Chen, Ana Beirne-Meyer and Caroline Zuba discussed the program, thanked their historian, graphic artist and exhibition designer, Program Educator, Ebon Brown, people involved with our field trips (Turnstile Tours, NYCH2O and the DEP’s Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant) and others. We would like to thank the Pinkerton Foundation for making this year’s Ex Lab possible. Ex Lab invites you to come and see the exhibit until May 29, 2016 when it closes and the new Ex Lab exhibit opens. Thank you for following us this year. We look forward to seeing you next year. Applications will be accepted starting in November, 2015. Thank you! Photographs by Lita Riddock
