First look at the new Onesheet
Today is a big day for Onesheet. We are giving our users a peek into what's next.
Since we launched over a year ago, many of our users have told us they're using Onesheet as a way to tell their story and promote themselves within the entertainment industry. They're using it in part as a resume, or a traditional "one-sheet".
While the current Onesheet pages are great for promoting yourself to fans, they're not working as a professional profile. So we're making some changes to serve both audiences.
THE NEW ONESHEET PROFILE
We want to provide entertainment professionals with a simple way to build a beautiful professional profile. LinkedIn falls short and many of the other options are embarrassingly ugly. We want to give you something to be proud of. We want to help your career grow not by building your fan base, but by building your reputation.
So, today we are privately releasing a first look at the new Onesheet. Your Onesheet is a place for you to list the projects you've worked on, the people who represent you, the things you are good at. It's a place for other entertainment professionals to endorse you, to follow you, and to contact you. It's a place for you to keep up with what your colleagues are working on. It's a place for your network and your career to grow.
Here's a quick rundown of the highlights of the new Onesheet (the ones we can share now):
Highlighted Media. Pick the video or audio that shows off why you're awesome and add it to the top of your new Onesheet. It's big, bold, and the #1 thing people will see when they get to your page.
Press. You get lots of great press, but there's never been room on Onesheet to show that off. The new Onesheet solves that and makes adding the press exceptionally easy. Just add the URL for the article that's been written about you and we'll pull in the title, blurb, and image. You can (and should) add all your press to your Onesheet in minutes.
Endorsements. Ask people you've worked with to visibly endorse you. It is further validation of your skills, and tells others that you are reliable and good at what you do.
Tags. You can add what skills you have, what instruments you play, etc.. Adding this structured information will make you a lot easier to find.
Privacy. You can password protect any new project Onesheet. This means if you have a new single, movie, album, or other project that you want to share with people, you can build a Onesheet for it and only allow access to those that should have it. Plus, you can track if they actually accessed it!
Content from the Web. We've long believed that if you're publishing content around the web, it should be easy to pull into your Onesheet. The new Onesheet is no different. Many of the pages stay up to date with content from other sites!
Projects (Coming Soon). Now add your entire filmography or discography to Onesheet incredibly easily. Just add projects on your Onesheet. You'll appear on all those pages.
Representation (Coming Soon). List your manager, agent, publicist, etc.. Make sure they're on Onesheet so people can find you and your people.
Having a new Onesheet is a privilege. Not everyone gets a ticket to the club. Current users are in. And they can invite in others that they deem worth of joining. But please remember that this is a closed, private network and we are relying on the community to keep it amazing.
CURRENT ONESHEETS
While we are really excited about the new Onesheet, we realize that many people really love and use their current Onesheets.
Starting today the Onesheet page you've known will be called Onesheet Splash Pages. To simplify things, the Pro tier and free tier will be combined and Splash Pages will be a premium product offered at a yearly subscription price of $60/year.
We realize this is a big change, and many people have been happy with the free tier up to this point. Here's how we are going to make the transition easier:
All existing Onesheet Splash Pages will stay active for the next 60 days. You can keep using the product for free while you decide if it's worth paying for or if you'd rather move your web presence somewhere else.
We are offering deep discounts to existing users. If you activate your yearly subscription in August, you lock in the next year for just $10. Again, that's the entire year for $10, which is over 80% less than Pro users are paying now! If you sign up in September, you save 50% and get the next year for $30. After that, you get the normal $60/year price.
We believe that if you don't get $10 (less than $1 per month) of value out of our service, then it's probably better to part ways.
Also, we are changing the URL structure a bit. Your Splash page will be at http://onesheet.com/yourname/splash. Don't worry, we will redirect all current Onesheets to this new name, so your visitors won't experience any difference. And anyone who has set up a custom domain won't notice any difference.
WHAT'S NEXT
Onesheet exists to make the lives of entertainment professionals easier. We build tools to help you communicate with each other and your audience.
There is a lot left to do with the new Onesheet to make it a key tool in your career. Today we're taking the first, small step. Please join us on this adventure and continue to send feedback on how we can make your lives easier.
