Does anyone else have that one friend whose sleep schedule is like an ever-evolving mystery? One day they’ll appear to be asleep for the entire 16 hours that you’re awake, but the next three they won’t appear to actually sleep at all. Sometimes they appear to be on Australian time, other times their schedule has adjusted to somewhere in the middle of the Pacific ocean. (I call this Cthulhu time.) You go a week without seeing them and you have no idea if they’re just really busy, dead, or if their sleep has simply synced up to the exact hours you’re awake and online. The only indication that they’re still in this mortal coil is vague posts about grocery shopping that pop up on their blogs at 4:12AM.

she looks like his mother after tens years of loveless marriage and a bad smoking habit. the way she drags her gaze across the room feels like she’s cutting each and every one of them down with a look— the way you look when you have nothing left, when your grief and guilt manifest as an anger that can’t be remedied with soft words and guided meditation.
julian forced him to come here, but that doesn’t mean he can’t find solace in the others who were forced to be here as well.
they sit quietly in the corner and talk of conspiracy, volunteering answers out of obligation and hopes of getting back to their own world. and while they don’t find peace with the group, with balls of healing light, with forgiveness— they find something in each other.
she’s a bitter bitch, but she’s his bitter bitch.

“We’re like two star-crossed lovers — without any of the lover stuff.”
lbr nothing beats “platonically sharing a bed until i wake up and you’re curled round me and my nose is buried in your hair so i’ll pretend to stay asleep to keep this for a little while longer” plots
masculinity is a prison, time doesn’t exist, gender isn’t real, virginity is a construct, and Jesus wasn’t white.

“ I was actually having a pretty great time. Y’know, saving kittens, kissing babies, making new friends… Now you have to come and ruin it. What a shame. ”
“I don’t think eating babies counts as kissing them, Pattykins.”
mcshiach:
Things had happened too quickly after Amara and God and everything in between. It’s been real hard to deal with Lucifer being too close, with the Darkness trying to destroy the world and an absentee father trying to avoid conflict but in the end– they got Mom back. After everything they’ve been through, they’ve finally done something good enough and now… now Mom is back and it finally feels like a true gift. They have enough time to take a breath and just enjoy her presence here.
Maybe he should’ve done it sooner, before everything started collapsing around them again. He could’ve done it but—-Mom and Dad had been in Heaven together, they were happy and he couldn’t take it away from them, no matter how much he’s missed them. It wasn’t fair. He still hesitates before knocking on the door and stepping in–and for a moment it feels like another dream but she’s here. She’s alive.
❝ Hey, Mom. ❞
Her words make him hesitate for another second before he allows himself to approach, resting a hand on her shoulder gently. He should’ve known how difficult it must be for her–and she doesn’t even know everything and it’s just too soon for that kind of talk. ❝ I don’t hate you. What happened… it wasn’t your fault. ❞
She almost flinches at the touch, but an age-old instinct keeps her from showing weakness. Campbells didn’t show weakness. Were they any more of them left? Mary hadn’t asked, she hadn’t thought to ask before. Her concern had been her boys, from the moment she’d arrived, learning about them, hating what John had done, but not blaming him for it.
This was not a life she’d wanted for them. But that was her fault, now, wasn’t it? If she hadn’t...
You know that’s not true, she wants to tell him. If I hadn’t made the deal, you would have grown up normal. If I hadn’t been so -- But if she hadn’t, would Sam be alive? A paradox of a situation, and endless circle of doubt and pain. She didn’t want this, what she wouldn’t give to be someplace else, to be in Heaven with John, to be unaware of the turnout of her choices.
But she couldn’t go back. None of them good.
Damn that woman, damn her to Hell for doing this to me.
“I’m not so sure about that.” She answers finally, reaching up to rub at her brow tiredly. The chair creaks as she leans back into it, eyes flicking up only briefly to meet his. “I’m sorry, Sammy. I’m so sorry.”
Because the truth is: I’m a fraud. To my core. When I was young, a hell of a long time ago, I was… well, scum.
