Knitting in Narrative with Rosina Godwin

Knitting in Narrative is an experimental knitting workshop exploring colour and materials to express a theme:-

Knitting simple shapes and motifs

Combining knitting with fabric

Exploring the psychology and meaning of colour

A Walk Through Nature with natural dyes

The session focuses on the artistic potential of simple knitting techniques. There will be knitting demonstrations , plus a discussion on using colour to express mood, with a basic introduction to natural dyeing. The class includes a worksheet, PowerPoint presentation, plus samples to inspire further ideas for after the session.

The workshop is aimed at anyone with an interest in textiles, and all levels of ability are welcome. Although the workshop focuses on creating experimental samples and artwork, techniques can be adapted to create functional objects such as garments, accessories and household items.

In the same way as the arts, there is a hierarchy of internal organs, with the heart and brain more prized than the bladder and the intestines.  Bladder is a disembodied and monstrously oversized version of a normally discreet organ.
