Take us back! š š š¼ #EDCLV
WHERE DO I BEGIN.
i went to EDCLV last weekend and iām having the worst case of withdrawals.Ā
there were two reasons why i decided to check this festival out. first, ITāS IN LAS VEGAS and iāve never been and itās vegaaasss, two, everyone keeps comparing tomorrowworld to this as the mecca of edm festival in the US, and you know TW has a special place in my heart, so i wanted to see what this was about. in the end, does it really compare?
no.
as for the FESTIVAL ITSELF, TW blows EDCLV out of the water. i keep hearing people speak of insomniac production like no other, but EDCLV really is just performers, and djs, and a huge parking lot/speedway in a desert, in the middle of the night dressed up in neon lights. itās electric daisy CARNIVAL after all and it actually felt like i was in a carnival rather than a music festival. i canāt say that getting through the gate and seeing everything lit up as the sun is setting and when it gets dark doesĀ not make me feel all tingly inside. it really is, entirely, something else.Ā
tomorrowworld on the other hand is magical. itās on a huge property and you surrender to nature, and they give you newspapers daily, you camp, and you meet your neighbors from around the world (whereas EDCLV i swear all i saw are californians lol or at least 99% of us are all from the US...) TW is just a whole different vibe (21+ event yo) and they built bridges JUST FOR THIS and on the lake (thereās a fucking lake and acres of grass vs EDCLVās hard cement concrete in the middle of summer)Ā TW have fire breathing fish and a water show that also lights up at night, and and and i could go on and on.
but somehow itās harder to get back to reality after EDCLV. maybe because this one just happened, itās recent. i was depressed after TW too but not like this.Ā
when i went to TW in atlanta, georgia, we only went to TW. only me and my boyfriend. thatās it. sure we made friends there but itās not quite the same. this EDCLV trip was more like a vacation, we went to cali for a little while, and after that it was the las vegas strip. honestly i just fell in love so hard with vegas. and this time it was also with a lot of our friends, so the memories made were shared together and it was just so much more fun. when it was over it just hits me harder, i guess.
would i go back to EDCLV? absolutely not. 110 degrees weather, TWO HOUR PARKING LOT TRAFFIC (shit is fucking ridiculous, 130,000 people going out of the parking lot at the same time) NEVER AGAIN. i would, however, go to vegas just for the EDC WEEK though. thatās another thing why itās worth going to EDCLV, they have a whole week in vegas dedicated for it!!! (ALSO DUSK TO DAWN!!!!) beach clubs and night clubs all over vegas are in on it. with TW you feel like youāre in another world cause youāre strictly immerse within the camping and festival grounds, but thatās truly the beauty of it, though.Ā
now imagine if all of us experience TW... i donāt think i can get through the withdrawals, honestly.
take me back to the good times.
they do, for the record.Ā
MATT LeBLANC:Ā Thereās only five people in the world who know exactly what being onĀ FriendsĀ was like, other than me. Thereās five of them. David, Matthew, Lisa, Courteney, and Jen. Thatās it. Marta and David were close, but when they left the stage, no one knew what they did. We could never leave the stage, metaphorically speaking. Still canāt. Still on that stage. That will follow us around forever.
More important than anything else is the look on peopleās faces when you cross paths with them in the street, or in the store, or in the grocery line. You can always tell that you wereāmaybe still are, maybe always will beāa part of their family. Movies have this thing where itās an event. You get dressed up, you go to dinner, and you go to the movies. Youāre outside of your element. But with television, people are watching you in bed, at their kitchen table eating. Youāre in their house.
I did not want it to end.
That went from 0 - 100 a lot faster than I predicted lol Truth!
