I think this is overdue a proper announcement!

If you're unaware, I'm one of the members of the New XKit team. It's no secret though that New XKit is kinda dead in the water, thanks to Tumblr's overhaul of its interface which broke almost every feature we had. Oh, and everyone else on the team has a day job now, so I decided to take matters into my own hands:

XKit Rewritten is the result of my work of over a year, now available for Firefox and Chrome (and by extension, Edge and Opera too). There are still features to be added, but the featureset has now mostly overtaken the current working featureset of XKit 7.

If you're already an XKit user, I heartily recommend trying the new experience - even if it means configuring everything again - for its improved performance and increased compatibility.

If you're not already an XKit user, I invite you to give it a go! There's probably some option you'll enjoy. Even if you're on your phone all the time, there's a janky way to set it up on Firefox for Android (sorry, iOS users; blame Apple, not me) which I've also detailed on the wiki.

as much as she loves presents (or more so the act of opening them and maybe even try to find out what they are before it’s time to open them), lois isn’t big in her own birthday. there was always something missing — from her mother, to her sister being shipped away in a boarding school and the general putting the world ahead of his daughters. but ever since being with clark, things have slowly changed. she started enjoying the little things and admiring the sweet moments that having a family provided. kon was family. and so, when she hears his voice from behind, she immediately turns around with a smile and a slight arched eyebrow. the slip didn’t go unnoticed but she lets it go. the thought alone already makes her emotional. 

❛ you didn’t have to — ❜ she begins, accepting her gift. she is almost certain clark helped him pick out the perfume, which makes this exchange even better. but her eyes grow wider with the second gift, locked at the signature at the corner.  ❛ a personalized gift? wow, now i feel special! ❜ lois chuckles and takes the boy in a tighter hug than usual.  ❛ thank you. ❜ she whispers before squeezing his cheek and putting the handkerchief around her neck, with the signature visible enough. truth be told, it was not a look on lois lane but in the moment, fashion wasn’t on her mind.  ❛ what do you think? how do i look? french enough to go to paris next month? ❜

deep down ella knows this. she has always put in effort when it comes to the things she loves and while her academic scores might not be high, they reflect the hard work that’s needed to keep afloat. when lois sits down, the younger twin brings up her knees and wraps arms around them. ❛ dad’s genes are more like the most you can do is try so i guess it balances out. ❜ there’s a soft chuckle as fingers rub the back of her neck. ❛ there’s a career thing at school next week and i guess i just, uh - i guess i just realised i don’t know what i want to do.❜

the looming dread of the future — lois remembers well how lost she once had been. from getting kicked out of college to going from one job to the next with no prospect of a career. she wasn’t always lois lane, the greatest investigative reporter.  ❛ lucky for you, you don’t have to. ❜  she offers her daughter with a smile and a soft touch in her arm.  ❛ despite what school tells you, and don’t tell dad i’ve said this, you don’t have to have it all figured out by now. least of all what you want to do with a career. you can have plenty of them! but since i should do the adult role here— ❜  she squeezes the youngest’s arm.  ❛ what do you like the most, right now? ❜
