Hate towards new members added after debut
Letās talk about a topic I still canāt understand: hate towards new members!
We all think of T-araās controversy when we talk about that topic right? Honestly I donāt know much about T-ara, so Iām not going to talk about that but they seemed pretty chill before the scandal.Ā
Or maybe about the sub-unit Super Junior-M when the fans bought half of SMās shares so those Chinese members wouldnāt be added to the original group?
Iād rather talk about the newest groups like Red Velvet for example. I love RV a lot and I think adding Yeri was such a good idea. (Yeri is the first one from left to right)
I can completely understand the bizarre feeling when thereās a new member in your favourite group when you were completely used to the group before. However, I think having her is such a plus for the group.
Well first of all I felt like they didnāt make her debut at the same time as the 4 other members because she was a bit too young (15 years old) and because the happiness dance could only be performed with a pair number of members lol. If they add a new member to a band people will also start talking about them more. Since Yeri was born in 1999 even in like 5 years she would be 21 only and we all know it's always better to be young in the Kpop industry. Also, she's so refreshing for the group. Whenever the other members look tired while performing she always looks so energetic and I've been noticing that ever since I saw this performance:Ā https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5araWH7EQEĀ You can tell how exhausted the group looks at the end of the performance but how Yeri has so much energy left.
Yeri always gets hate just for being in the group, like do you honestly think she chose to be added after their debut? And yes, it does affect her. (someone wrote a hateful message about Yeri and she saw it)
Now moving on the addition of Elkie and Eunbin to CLC. Iām such a big fan of CLC!! ( from left to right Elkie is third and Eunbin last)
So in February 2016 Elkie and Eunbin were added to the original line of members. To me it was definately to become more famous and try to have people to actually stan them because those girls are so underrated but so talented!
Iām pretty sure Elkie was added to the group because sheās Chinese. China is such a big country so thereās more way to get many fans from there if thereās actually a Chinese member in the group. Also, Elkie can sing really well, she can keep her breath even if sheās dancing a hard dance while singing. And on top of that sheās already pretty famous in China because she was in a girlgroup there and she acted in almost 20 dramas! She is also the first Kpop idol from Hong Kong. The addition of Elkie was only positive.
And Eunbin is the new maknae of the group, she was born in 2000! Same thing as Yeri, itās always better to be young. Eunbinās visuals are no jokes, she looks like an angel fallen from heaven. The main reason why I think they added her is because she got her own fanbase after participating in Produce 101.Ā
The two members were there to bring new fans and it worked. People keep on bringing OT5 again and again but if you did support them when they were 5, Iām sure they wouldnāt have added the new members. However, I must admit that Cubeās promotions are so bad that they could end up disbanding like 4minute when they have so much potential.
Iām not asking you to change your bias for the new member but to at least accept him/her. Not only do you hurt that one new member but also the entire group.Ā
Love
