…I’d never heard of that, but you know how fractured English Macross stuff is. I just heard it had a Zentradi escort… :(
Neo-Britai does appear in the post-DYRL PC game Macross 2036 as a friend to adult Komilia but, you know, fluid continuity.
However, fandom sources refer to Neo-Britai as her “uncle” in the game, which, not sure of the Japanese nuances but I’m a mark for any friendship between the Jeniuses and Exsedol et. al.

Speaking of the Megaroad, I’m glad Macross walked back the disappearance somewhat in recent years.

It’s such a weirdly bleak concept for the type of series that Macross is, up there with the Macross 7 Docking Festival album that said the spy trio became bitter, burned-out alcoholics—though they might have walked THAT back since a character in the Musicalture Macross musical is Rori and Vanessa’s granddaughter.
Anyway, it was frustrating to see the western fandom believing that the Megaroad’s disappearance was a firm and necessary statement as to SDFM’s artistic integrity. I prefer new stories too and H/M/M ‘s story was complete and I hope the Lady M mentioned in Delta is an original character but come on…

Honestly I’ll take anything over the M7 Docking Festival album. I’m agnostic as to who of the sextet would pair up long-term and whether they had children or not—partly because the spies’ personalities all blend a bit, much as I love them.
As far as I’m concerned, they got their lives together because that’s the Macross way…plus, like, it bothers me when a series doesn’t take its own tone into account when deciding things.
Info about the Docking Festival comes secondhand from other fans, but one fan I’ve known for a while and he’s the real thing.

This is the same person, BTW, who told me once that Ryunosuke Obayashi found the TV Exsedol voice hard to do. Maybe that’s why Neo-Exsedol sounds so different…?
At least it’s the same album when the old sprout gets to sing, per my previous post.

Gubaba is one of the greats, it’s true. I’ll pass on your regards since I still talk with him on social media sometimes.
I mean, my Macross fandom often felt like I was doing things that were normal for other fandoms but completely foreign to western Macross fandom which was why I never went far in it—I just had to try, against my better judgement, because I’d found the Shiny New Thing.

⚠️W.I.P⚠️ something for the TSDFM/Robotech fandom because I haven't seen anyone make this and I thought I shall be the one to.
it looks like shit but basically it's the MCR album just with Lap'lamiz and Kamujin (or Azonia and Khyron). I just need to add some filters and words and it'll be done so...here's the progress so far
gavil
"Although he was Micloned at one time, he purportedly returned to his former Zentradi size and realtered his body makeup for fear of losing his cerebral capacity and memories.”
sorry but i think this is a bit silly. it's just a fear, right? there is no evidence here? to be clear, i'm approaching this from an out-of-universe perspective - it feels like the showrunners kept him big to basically add him as a living monument on the battle 7 bridge. you mean he doesn't get to interact on an equal level with the culture he felt such fascination and appreciation for? nonsense!
of note, i did the math and neo/DYRL exsedol would be 5'7 miclonized. just food for thought

Thanks for the compliments. And yeah, it’s a strange thing to have happened—thank God it’s not a literal transformation (which I understood after “Fleet of the Strongest Women” and that one Frontier episode), but it’s so unusual a tack.
I’ve stayed cheerful about Neo-Exsedol for years, but not enough to save my reputation—if I had any. It’s cute that a character who looks like a B-Movie monster is a good guy, but that’s missing all the good character beats, and in context the change comes off as depressing even if it’s not a literal in-story transformation.
Like, getting flown around by his head when he has to leave Battle 7 is a downer. Funny thing is, I have some M7 concept art that shows him smiling instead.
I’m honestly curious about the reason behind Neo-Exsedol, (and Neo-Britai but he didn’t get a new show) but all we get are the answers that there is no “real” Macross and continuity is fluid but—why this guy?
Anyway, here’s the Neo-Exsedol version of, “My Boyfriend is a Pilot”:
I'm wired right now so I went on a Zentradi postin gbinge here's some posting of my Macross-friendly fanart I made a long time ago.
Curious Exedore is so adorable.
It’s how I like to imagine him, really. That the revamped Exedore is so apathetic convinces me that he’s not intended to be an extension of the previous character, but a complete overhaul whose past and personality have no relevance to the previous incarnation. To think otherwise, that Exedore simply aged out of his new engagement with the miclone world, or that it never went anywhere, is too depressing, and there’s no evidence either way.
It’s a nerdy hill I will die on.
This takes me back. I never dropped this but I might have felt I said all I need to, or maybe gone a bit self-conscious after moving away from fandom, from oversharing, and realizing strange tastes are neutral…and seeing the discourse about over-projecting—even though the last thing wouldn’t be about me—but it hasn’t changed.
