Sometimes I think about how “Bad Blood” proves Mulder specifically does not see himself as an object of desire for Scully, even in his own version of events. There’s no attempt to make himself seem macho or capable; in fact, he becomes even more pathetic when he is the narrator. He has a milliliter-sized amount of self esteem and I wouldn’t have it any other way
