Story time my little loves 💕
I heard Baby's little steps as he paced, and I looked up over my glass of wine.
"Does someone need to go potty?" I sang, the smile sneaking into my voice.
His face was pink with embarrassment.
"Yes Mommy," he replied with his small voice catching in his throat.
His face lit up, "I can go potty?"
"Of course you can. Do you need to hold mommys hand while you push?"
Baby's little mouth popped open, making a little"O" with his lips. "umm, I can do it by myself mommy."
He twisted his little hands under his chin while swaying faster back and forth. I could tell the urge to go was getting stronger.
"Okay, go potty. Mommy will watch"
As he took a step in the direction of the bathroom, I laughed. "Where are you going little one?"
"Potty" he replied, "you said I could use the potty!"
"No, Mommy said you could GO potty. You have a perfectly good diaper on. Now use it."
The pink in his face deepened. It was now crimson.
Turning my head to the side and mocking him in a baby voice, Mommy teased, "aww, did the pathetic little diaper baby think I would let him sit on the potty like a big boy?!"
Baby looked at his toes and whispered, "I.. I.. I think I can hold it."
"You think you're a big boy? That's sweet. I'll make you a deal. If you can not mess your diaper all night then I'll let you wear undies."
"Really?" Baby interrupted excitedly.
"Really, really! BUT, if you do mess your diaper you will sit in it all day and all night. Think about it, do you really want to chance being a stinky, poopy, prince for 24 hours?" Mommy sweet voice warned.
Baby paused, looking up at the ceiling, trying to weigh the risk vs reward. After a few minutes he replied, "Yes Mommy. I think I am a big boy".
"A deals, a deal" I agreed. Standing to grab his bottle. "You do know mommy always gets what she wants, right?" I slowly opened the cabinet over the sink. The special cabinet where I keep the medicine. Looking directly into baby's eyes, I empty the contents of the laxative packet into Baby's bottle.
"Come one little love. It's time for your bottle"
Baby starts to cry as he wattles to grab my hand. "Please Mommy" he pleaded, knowing he had made a mistake.
Mommy always gets what she wants 😘
