I spent so long painting @countryhorror at november's VS Art Party, the sun rose. Truthfully, I didn't get that much done during the live painting, I spent a long time afterwards religiously copying the screenshots instead. There's certain oddities from copying the game graphics and lighting but I enjoyed turning brain off and not worrying about fixing it. Also uploaded to Cara.

Two quick demonstrations of a brush I made. It's the first time I've uploaded a material to clip studio assets: edgy airbrush

It has one hard edge and the rest is soft, so it can be used like an airbrush or a paintbrush. I like it for blending and erasing too.

Hello gamers. I have decided to collect my guild wars 2 related art into a single gallery rather than having it spread across this blog and my art blog ( eyedraws.tumblr.com ). (The secret truth is I would like to apply for the anet partner program and I'm hoping having things a little more tidy and professional will make a better impression than just dropping my ancient digital scrapbooks in their lap and saying "you figure it out".)

refusing to do more than the absolute most bare minimum skimming of blender tutorials because they're so overwhelming. As a result, stumbling through/brute forcing takes way longer and my strategies are janky and rough around the edges. But I'm still excited to make progress!! I will attempt to learn properly in tiny bites, eventually!!

This picture scared the hell out of me because my last step on it was "too good" and I got worried about messing it up and making it worse going forward. Life's also just been focused on non art things. I'm finally on ADHD medication and tonight it just felt natural to sit and possible to start drawing the details of the clothing which is usually super overwhelming.

I was stressing out but I recalled brd and felt this wave of calm. It's been long enough, my feelings about everything have changed.

I started painting that picture right. and realized halfway in. Man this feels all wrong. Went back to my sources of inspiration, did five or six tiny thumbnail paintings using the inspiration images as reference. Took my time doing a slightly more detailed exploration of one idea and now i'm feeling SO much more on the right track. Even if I change course a few more times, it's great just to realize I can. I'm even thinking of completing 2 separate versions, one painted like this and one just with lineart/flat colors.
