Hyperrealistic paintings explore nature invading our urban world with surreal
Josh Keyes is an artist living and working in Portland, USA. His hyperrealistic style of painting creates a world where nature has reclaimed our urban environment, and his powerful images focus on magnificent animals in surreal apocalyptic situations.
His work has been described as “a satirical look at the impact urban sprawl has on the environment and surmises, with the aid of scientific slices and core samples, what could happen if we continue to infiltrate and encroach on our rural surroundings.”
Born in 1969 in Tacoma Washington, Josh studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Yale University School of Art. He has exhibited his work nationally and internationally and has work in private and public collections. Source: wowxwow and creativeboom
