Yahoo Mobile Developer Suite arrives in Hong Kong
Flurry Analytics, Native Video Advertising and Tumblr In-App Sharing now integrated for Marketers and App Developers
Hong Kong, 23 September 2015 â Yahoo Hong Kong (www.yahoo.com.hk) today announced new key features of the Yahoo Mobile Developer Suite, which are now available in Hong Kong for marketers and app developers to address the challenges presented by the evolving mobile app landscape. These include Flurry Analytics, Native Video Advertising and Tumblr In-App sharing.
New enhancements to the Yahoo Mobile Developer Suite:
Real-time Metrics in Flurry Analytics: Flurry will be adding real-time metrics for all users. Refreshing automatically every 15 seconds, this means developers can have instant insight into real-time app activity, completely for free through Flurry Analytics. Real-time metrics will work on any scale, whether a developer has a hundred, a thousand or a billion users. Additionally, developers now have the ability to co-mingle data for multiple apps in one chart.Â
Native Video Advertising: By combining native, the best performing ad format, with video, the best performing ad content, developers can integrate an advertising solution into their app that is designed to increase monetization.
Tumblr In-App Sharing: Developers can now let users share their creations with their Tumblr followers with just a single click. When Tumblr users who donât have the app see the post, the ability to download the app will be a seamless part of their experience. App developers will also be able to see engagement with content shared by their users, such as how many times it has been reblogged, clicked on or liked.

PicCollage is a popular collage-maker app with 100 million users worldwide. It can be used to combine photos, videos, funky fonts, sassy stickers and cute cutouts to create collages on a mobile device. Since 2011, PicCollage has employed Flurry Analytics in order to better understand the in-app behavior of individual users, particularly in relation to the âEventâ, âSegmentâ and âUsageâ functions. With a view to providing a better user experience, PicCollage also adjusted the landing screen to explore the influence of these changes on usersâ click rates and sharing rates. Through Funnel Analysis in Flurry Analytics, the PicCollage team was pleased to note that both the conversion rate and the click rate of the app had increased by 100%.

Flurry Analytics is in use in 190,000 apps across 610 million mobile devices in Asia. The evolving global mobile app landscape based on an analysis of data from Flurry Analytics, which is now active in 730,000 apps across two billion mobile devices worldwide, was also highlighted today. Key insights include:
59% increase to 280 million since 2014 in the global mobile addict population, which is defined as users who use apps 60 or more times a day.
90% of the time consumers spend on their mobile involves apps.
Three types of apps â Social, Messaging and Entertainment â now account for 51% of all time spent on mobile.
Time spent on Social & Messaging apps has increased 50 percent and time spent on Entertainment has increased 240 percent, while time spent on Gaming has decreased 36 percent from 2014 to 2015.
