Lost and Found
Temporarily forgetting the girl, he sat for a while, attempting to remedy his spinning head all while feeling the sting of the several cuts and, soon to be, bruises he would receive.
She wanted to yell at him, wanted to tell him to let go of her and to get going because this rescue mission of his was a hopeless mess. Especially with him yelling at her and pulling on her horribly pained arm. Her left hand ignored everything and went straight to where the pain was --her right shoulder blade. If his foot wasn't in the stirrup then just maybe she could have hopped on with that, but no. That idea was apparently not at all in his mind.
Gritting her teeth she did best to not scream out in pain and show what a fool she was to attempt anything. If she ignored it then just maybe it would go away. She felt her body sliding further and further away from the animals legs and the speed decreasing for the most part. Opening her right eye she noticed how the boy was trying to readjust himself and pulled the rein. "No don't-" she managed to get out just before he fell and took her down with him.
A hill, the very thing she somewhat wished wasn't there. What was once next to them, was now right under them. She rolled over and landed on her left hand that was protecting her shoulder blade from any more damage. The eye that wasn't shut was shut now and and began to spin uncontrollable for the most part, all she could do was hope that she could get to the point where it didn't kill her. Her head moved and her body rolled over it. Thankfully her neck wasn't damaged and neither was anything for the most part other than her injured arm. With her speed quickening she wondered what would happen next only to meet with the bark of a tree, face first. It caused her to fall onto her back and bite her tongue.
She believed things couldn't be worse, if anything she believed the boy would run on his own and leave her there to die, but to her surprise she felt a tight hand grab her right wrist and yank up causing far greater pain. She followed the yank and got up the best she could. Stumbling slightly she managed to pick a good pace with good footing unlike the boy leading her.
Unable to stop him she felt him tumble and take her with him. Going into yet another roll she didn't know how to really stop. Rocks bit at her skin and possibly began to sink into her, she felt a rock hit her wrist and realized that the hand that was once there was no longer there. She didn't know where it went with her eyes closed but she hoped it wasn't too far from her.
She continued to roll up until she lost all the momentum. A tree sat in her path, if she didn't stop when she did she would have hit it once again. Faced down in the dirt she huffed out air and send a few dust particles flying into the air before she lifted her head. Once eye was opened as she looked up and saw the boy was leaning against the tree.
After locating him her mind went back to what was chasing them around. Her blue eyes looked everywhere as she got up and held her shoulder and hoped for the pain to give out. "Where did it go?" she questioned trying to caught her breath keeping on guard walking slowly towards the boy stopping a couple feet away making sure she wasn't close to him but wasn't far either. No matter what her guard would remain up, for both the monster and this mysterious blond with her.
