Could not forget about Pride Month without my favorite gay cartoon duo!!!!! I know pride shouldn’t be a time worth showing hate for but when it comes to A.I, that can pass in my opinion.

While this month we’re all celebrating Pride Month, yesterday also happened to be the 10th anniversary of the Pulse nightclub tragedy that happened in Orlando, a tragedy that happened just one year after LGBTQIA+ people in the US and many parts of the globe could finally feel safe and be free to be who they are, only to go back to being afraid again. It also happens to be the 10th anniversary of my favorite Nickelodeon show, The Loud House, which boasts a cast of many proud LGBTQIA+ characters and every time I think of them or see them on TV or on video, I kept thinking to myself, “I wonder how they felt about that tragedy because I know a lot of real life people felt hurt by that tragedy.” I tried looking it up on the internet, but any Loud House tributes to the Orlando nightclub shooting are nowhere in sight, so I decided to make one myself even though I never felt like wanting to make Loud House art. I was hoping to include some characters, but since this was a new style and drawing them like the show was very frustrating and challenging, I only went with the four major queer characters, Luna Loud and Sam Sharp, and Harold and Howard McBride. I don’t use DeviantArt though but hoping to at least find some Loud House enjoyers on Instagram or Tumblr who notice this.

Stop Motion Animation practice I did today. Not really much of a story really. Most of the emphasis is on the detail of the characters but they were so detailed that getting to animate them was tricky because a lot of parts were falling off. So I had no other choice but to wing it. Stop motion is one of my many careers I want to have for my future and it was so fun getting to do it.

Hey, everyone! I’m feeling under the weather right now but I just wanted to say that the outpouring of love I have gotten over “Havoc in Heaven: Archangels Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel, Raguel, and Selaphiel with the Illuminati juxtaposed against a Dadaist backdrop, circa 1930” has been absolutely overwhelming. I know it’s not the type of Cuphead Archangel AU I prefer and it has given me a lot of stress then and weighed down on completing my first ever Goth-tober Art Challenge last year, but the amount of ardor from my peers and family and from you guys on Tumblr has made me feel so unconditionally happy that I just wanted to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. It has been difficult time-wise but a labor of love throughout.

Based on the Cree proverb, “Only when the last tree has been chopped down, and the last fish been caught, and the last river poisoned will we realize we cannot eat money.” As an autistic person, it’s been very easy to keep all of my thoughts on current issues to myself for a very long time and as an artist at the same time, when expressing what I’m feeling at the moment it often comes out as too rushed or the message isn’t projected clear enough as with my earlier climate posts revolving last year’s wildfires in LA. But now even I’m starting to realize I cannot keep that trauma and passionate feelings inside me any longer, and that’s why I knew I had to make this piece regardless of time. In the background, you can see last year’s wildfires in LA as well as the July 4 floods in Central Texas, rising sea levels amongst coastal communities with a very flat elevation, and droughts and increased desertification in areas with a dry climate but very fertile soil like the Central Californian basin.

Not Gothtober-related but I’ve been having to work under severe pressure with my represented gallery, Sage Studios. It’s quite different depictions of the Archangels from Cuphead; it’s more inspired by @brightgoat @lilluciferau. I title it “Havoc In Heaven: The Archangels Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel, Raguel, and Selaphiel juxtaposed against the Illuminati, 1930 CE”. I didn’t feel like I’d have enough time, space or materials to fit all the archangels in this piece, but I did the best I could. It’s a neo-dada and modern-day pop art-themed piece made out of collage, mixed media, and paint marker on paper, and is heavily influenced by Dada art. I also added Bill Cipher as inspiration for the Illuminati.(I have yet to see Gravity Falls but I really want to though)

Why is it that every time I try looking up a hashtag on Instagram I’m receiving a lot of posts that aren’t related to the hashtag I’m looking for? For example, when I looked up #iceisisis and it said it had 100+ posts and not a single one of them had that said hashtag. Also I wanted to look up #standwithanimation since I hadn’t looked that up in a long time and all I got was political animation, pro-Palestinian animation, older posts that existed before the said hashtag, and even AI, the absolute antithesis of the “Stand With Animation” hashtag and what its sole purpose was made for.

Since today’s Christmas, I thought about doing a Christmas-themed bonus Gothtober art prompt calling it a year. I was thinking of taking inspiration from a Christmastime short film, “The Stalls of Barchester” from the “A Ghost Story for Christmas” series from BBC One, based off the story by M.R. James to use for this sketch prompt and found that there were 3 things to draw upon:3 wooden carvings that represented a black cat, Death, and The Devil. I was originally planning on sketching those three carvings but then thought to myself, “Why not draw the real thing?” And so here is Gothtober Day 32: “The Black Cat, The Tartarean Devil, and The King of Terrors with The Hanging Oak(where the carvings in the story were made from)”.

Gothtober Day 30: Me in a Circa 1892 Nevada Steampunk Gothic outfit

Trying to find inspiration for someone to emulate this character was a bit tricky to conjure on my own, so I decided to put myself in its place. I drew upon vintage photography of Austin, Nevada to set it in and looked up 1890s American men’s fashion and Wild West steampunk fashion for inspiration behind this. Although I was going for a Wild West steampunk gothic angel, I didn’t have the time or energy to make a character that looked like someone from 1892 Austin, NV so that’s that.
