Felicity smirked at his words and she leaned into him conspiratorially, looking around the room as if they were about to commit a crime. "If you swipe a second tray for me, I'll distract them as you sneak away." Emmeline may be super best friends with Julian, but that didn't mean Felicity didn't cackle every time Cristian riled him up at events like this. At least he seemed to know how to experience fun.

"I'm sure your invitation was just misplaced. I mean, you can't even begin to imagine the hours of calligraphy that went into them, Lucille was very particular. Yeah, yeah, I'll tell her-... Mhm. Okay, have a great evening," Emmeline grinned so widely she must have looked a little unhinged. When they finally left, she rolled her eyes and turned to find the nearest drinks tray.

"If you think you can get away with leaving me here you're fucking delusional." Felicity loved a party as much as the next person, but this was a gathering at best. She was only twenty eight, goddammit! "Do you think we'll ever go to the club again? A bonfire bash? A kegger?"

For a minute, Logan thought he might have imagined Felicity's voice. For a minute, he let himself imagine it was her instead. Squeezing his eyes tighter, Logan took a breath and, with great effort, sat himself back up on the bed. Leaning against the headboard, they looked at Felicity in utter defeat. The words he needed to answer her question were like poison on his tongue. The bitter truth. "I'm... I'm not anything," they murmured, hands dragging down their face. Logan was desperate for this night to be over, maybe then he could wake up tomorrow and it would all be a mistake. A bad dream.

Somewhere in their whiskey soaked mind, they realised that Felicity was here when she could have been anywhere else. Should have been. "Oh, shit... I- Sorry, Felicity. I'm okay, I'll be alright. You don't-... Thank you for checking on me, but you don't have to... I'm not exactly anyone's perfect match, right now."

That first sentence out of their mouth–I'm not anything–was like a dagger to her heart, and it was then that she knew she wouldn't be going anywhere tonight. Valentine's Day or not, Logan needed someone here to make sure he was okay and she resigned herself to being that person; she had to be.

Felicity placed her hand down on top of his and squeezed. "Hey, I can find a perfect match any day of the week. I'm not leaving you alone on your birthday." She smiled sadly, turning more towards him and getting into a more comfortable position on the bed. "Do you want to talk about it, or will I just start feeding you these strawberries?"

Logan had done it. It was midnight, and they were still standing. They'd more or less made sure everyone else was having a good time at this party. His party. Everything about this party was about him. And Isobel. Everything she'd helped him plan, everything she'd poured into making this perfect. Everything reminded him of her, everything was about her. Logan had tried to quiet his thoughts of Isobel with more whiskey, it hadn't helped. In fact, the more he drank, the more he thought about her. Where was she? Why wasn't she here? What was he supposed to do without her?

When his mom had given him a hotel key, encouraging him to go hang out with one of his friends - because they were all his friends - he took it. By the time he'd swiped it, Logan wanted nothing more than to curl into a ball and die. Logan sat on the bed, fully deflating. If they could reach their phone, they would have called her. Maybe she'd come back. She might come back, right? That thought was the final nail in his coffin, Logan collapsed onto the bed, head in his hands while the world around him ceased to exist. @f-elicitysantiago

When Angie had handed her the hotel key, she hadn't exactly been specific with what Felicity was going to walk in on, but she had informed her that she was being sent to check up on Logan. To say that she was disappointed would have been an understatement, but hey... Logan was–had always been–one of her favourite people, and if they needed her, then she would be there. Even at an event like this. Even on Valentine's Day.

She opened the door to see him curled up on the bed and she sighed softly. This wasn't good. Felicity dropped her bag on the table and made her way over to the bed, perching on the edge beside Logan. "Hey, buddy. You doing okay?"
