VR Experience for Status Anxiety
I am really hopeful for the future of VR. I beleive it can replace most of our media devices. TVs for instance can shift to VR. VR movies make us think that we are in the movie, rather than just watching it. Just like VR games, explaining almost all VR experiences to non users is hard. You just have to try it to know what exactly it is. Imagine in the future our digital devices (Laptop, Smartphone, etc) have transformed to a single VR headset. Using Microsoft Office or Photoshop in Laptops seems outdated and boring to me. It would be awesome to go inside a digital world and actually create a project. Or imagine social media moves to a mysterious and amazing new platform. It changes pretty much everything. The future of VR, reminds of the movie Matrix.
But these are, in my opinion, the long term future of VR. For now the games and experiences are limited, but it is increasing day by day. Recently, I come up to an idea for treating status anxiety. There is a very successful VR game called Rec Room that helps alot of people for their social anxiety. It is basically a simple social game. The idea of the VR experience for treating status anxiety is to put the person in a stressful situation, like in the airplane, in a job interview, or on the exam. I guess it can help people who deal with situational anxiety. It is not my profession, so I must be careful in writing about it, but I have read from many psychologists that preparation and practice while being calm is really helpful for treating such a mental health problem.
Of course it is still just an idea. What do you think about such a project? Please comment your thaughts and ideas.
