@julymist has a bunch of great one-shots and her You're Gonna Be Okay series makes my heart melt. Her current series is Leon x OC, Holding Out for a Hero, is super cool! Her OC, Nora, is awesome, and I love the details that julymist puts into the story and into her character. CW for dead dove content in some of her fics, but a lot of her work is not, so I suggest browsing her work.

@dzaneh has a really sweet and angsty Leon x Ashley series called "Through Different Eyes" that I really enjoy. I like the way Leon and Ashley's dynamic is portrayed in this series, and it feels very in character to me.

@matarath has multiple longfics for Leon and Chris and her work is super hot and super fun and always makes me happy to read. Her Ao3 account is under the same name.

@f41ryb0nes has a fantastic Leon x Reader longfic called The Condor and the Swan with princess Reader and he is her bodyguard. Super emotional and the smut is hot. She also did a series of threesome oneshot fics recently that were hot and a lot of fun.

@alibellerosetta who is primarily active on Ao3 under the same username, but has a wonderful selection of Leon fics and a couple Luis fics. She posts very consistently and always has fun and new ideas that make me excited to read.

ure a real one for making leon a firefighter instead of a cop given the corruption of the rpd like i REFUSE to believe had the outbreak not happened like that he'd just b okay w working for them

yeah it definitely wouldn’t be in line with his character. imo capcom pretty clearly made leon a cop as a plot device to walk the average american player (see also: men) through the emotional journey from “he’s a cop and wants to save people! I see myself in him” to “the police have done the opposite of saving people, the system he I believed in is immoral down to the core and can only be rectified by bringing it to the ground." Claire's campaign makes it even clearer with Sherry and Irons, spectacular writing there

resident evil cannot be separated from broad themes of anti-americanism tbh. umbrella as a whole is a clear allegory to the dangers of medicine for profit (power). leon being forced to serve could easily be interpreted as commentary on how the military preys on vulnerable populations in recruitment. or in Krauser’s case, how the command structure turns people into killing machines and then abandons them, resulting in many becoming unrecognizable/monsters (a parallel to US soldiers who defect to the opposing side, or more commonly those who become violent monsters in their personal lives). chris’ character is defined by the human cost of combat. re6 gets into the white house of it all. that messaging is a huge part of what drew me to the franchise! it’s so expertly written
