i love the fact that narumitsu or not everyone just collectively agrees that there is no way that Miles Edgeworth ™ is heterosexual. like i’ve never ever seen anyone on the aa fandom be like “yea edgeworth is straight” and i damn hope it stays that way because this man is here is g a y

It’s not even just that this is a common fandom perception, since ascribing a sexuality to a fictional character regardless of how much canon-backed evidence for it there is or not always happens. Edgeworth, in canon, is actually written to be if not gay, then at the very least “absolutely not straight.” This is a canonical exchange between Edgey and Gumshoe:

Gumshoe: Well, everyone knows that you are quite popular with the ladies, sir... Maybe she's an old girlfriend that you sent to Dumpsville when you were younger.

Edgeworth: D-Detective! Where did you hear such nonsense from!?

Gumshoe: I didn't hear it from anyone. It's just sorta how I imagine you to be... sir.

Edgeworth: (...D-Do I really inspire this sort of frothing desire from the female masses?)

We already know from that same game that Gumshoe’s straight, so he likes to see Edgeworth as a ladies’ man. But Edgeworth has never had a girlfriend, would never have a girlfriend, and the mere thought of so many girls and women pining for him is outright unsettling to him. To say nothing of his revulsion at Oldbag’s constant advances, though that’s less to do with gender and more to do with Oldbag. Characters like Phoenix and Maya seem to be Bi, while the likes of Gumshoe and the Judge are straight. Whether Edgeworth is gay or asexual is up for debate, but he certainly doesn’t gravitate towards the opposite sex. (Franziska is also very likely the same way, especially given her closeness with Adrian Andrews.)
