You're not really supposed to say it this way, because its considered crass, but here in the US children are culturally and legally considered essentially the property of their parents.
Note that its considered more crass to point this out than it is to treat children as property in the first place.
Idk man some of those "signatories" to the treaty have things like child marriage and genital mutilation and child soldiers and child trafficking and use child labor and don't let girls go to school and a whole bunch of other stuff that's flat out illegal in the US
So maybe we need to step off about how the US is so uniquely evil or whatever American exceptionalism but make it leftist

Indeed. In general people don't starve to death in America. Rather they die from eating too much of the Wrong Kind Of Foods due to food deserts, economy of fast food versus healthy food, etc. But Americans don't starve. Ensuring food is a human right doesn't ensure that HEALTHY food is a human right and so that doesn't fix America's nutritional problems at all.
