itβs not rare for you both to end up at the beach when you go on walks. there was never a specific time that you went at and it was never arranged, youβd both simply show up together and sit on the golden sand whilst mikey buried one of your limbs under it like usual. βthere.β mikey said with a satisfied smile. you peered down at your now completely covered a much sand or a press too hard would break your bones. mikey was always gentle with you despite being known for his physical power, and now with his head resting atop yours burying your hand under the sand, you still found it hard to believe that he was the same person he was when he fought. βi donβt knowβ¦ youβre like a dog,β you fiddled with the paw of the plushie, βiβm always looking after you making sure you donβt do dumb shit.β you squinted under sunshine, the fiery orb beginning to lower in the sky as you watched a small dog sprint towards the sea, its owner running after it with their arms out. it felt familiar, like you were watching yourself.
βhey, i look after you, too!β he almost wined, picking up more sand to cover your fingers with. that wasnβt something you could disagree with. despite mikey being a handful for many reasons, he never seemed to leave your side, either. he was always trying to protect you without ever considering if you actually needed it or not. he made sure you never felt alone, like he always did, taking you out with him at every spare chance he has. you were sure it was simply because he loved you and never wanted to lose you, but you knew the passing of his friends and family members would always play on his mind, fear settling in at the thought of that happening to you. βthere.β mikey said with a satisfied smile. you peered down at your now completely covered hand, an βMβ drawn in the middle of it. you smiled before abruptly bringing your hand up to flick the pile of grains at him. you hadnβt meant for the sand to splat all over his faceβ¦ or all over the rest of his taiyaki. letβs just say thereβs a reason why that woman and her dog felt familiar.

"y/n, are you awake?" is the question that had taken you both to the beach at silly o'clock in the morning. baji had always been a heavy sleeper, never stirring or turning around for unknown reasons, but during this time of year, he just can't keep his eyes closed. he was hot, he was bothered, the humid summer night refusing to aid him to fall into a state of slumber. the huffing and groaning coming from beside you had caused you to open your eyes and see nothing but the very dim lighting of dawn peeking through the gap in the curtains. so, when you felt a hand brush against your arm and a familiar, deep voice asking you a question you'd heard more times than you could count, you knew where you were going next.
you'd been here many times before but it never seemed to get boring. never seemed to be repetitive. you heard baji yawn next to you. "oh, so now you're falling asleep, hm?" you felt the weight of his head lift off the top of yours as he leaned back on his elbows and stretched his legs, letting the edge of the flat waves meet the soles of his shoes (he always insisted that you sit as close as possible to the sea). "no! 'm just relaxed now... the sea sounds nice." relaxed, something that baji rarely ever feels. not in the way that he was constantly stressed it's just that your boyfriend was... well, he had a lot of energy. he looks so pretty like this, you thought. whilst the sunrise was beautiful, it was never as kind on the eyes as baji was. the sun made his skin shimmer like gold and the wispy hairs on his head danced in the breeze. he thought the exact same of you. the horizon could never paint a picture as pretty as you.
"kei, your shoes are getting wet... kei!" you nudged his leg with your foot and pulled him out of his trance. baji could feel his heel getting damper and damper and only then did he realise that you'd started moving back from the tide. "hey, come back!" he lay flat on his back and reached out to grab you. when you didn't come closer to him he pouted and stood up. "what, you scared of the waves or something? don't wanna get wet?" he laughed, almost teasingly, as he took long strides into the sea, all the way up to his calves. baji turned around with a toothy grin as if to say "see, i can do it, it's not scary!" as if you were afraid in the first place. "complain about having wet socks on the way home and i'm never coming to the beach with you again!" getting up, you spoke through laughter as you watched the tall figure kick towards you, water spraying all over you. perhaps a little more than he intended and your surprised face was enough to tell him that he'd be going home with more than just wet shoes.
ΛΛΛ KAZUTORA
kazutora likes to go to the beach when heβs stuck in his head and canβt think about anything but the things heβll never forgive himself for. he goes in the evening when the sky turns a deep blue, the fluffy clouds even darker. the breeze grows a little colder by then and flows through the long, soft strands of his hair, forming new tangles and knots in it. sometimes heβll lie down and let the golden sand caress his head. heβll close his eyes and take a breath thatβs never as deep as he wants it to be - even the breeze kissing his cheeks and the distant sounds of the little waves clapping against each other couldnβt calm him anymore. other times heβd simply stand and stare outwards into the horizon of dark blue, yellow eyes still shining bright under the moon. if you were to walk past him, youβd think he was calm, mind undisturbed by anything that could be distressing or perturbing. he was anything but.
so one day he brought you along with him, when going alone no longer aided him. your chest felt warmer against his back than the stone cold sand he was used to resting on, your arms holding him close against you. your fingers didnβt tangle his dark locks, but brushed through them with a gentleness the wind would never know how to execute. it didnβt kiss his cheeks like you did, either. your kisses were warm and loving against his skin and it made him want to grab onto you and never let go as if the sea would carry you away if he did. he never goes without you now.

you hadnβt really noticed the snow until a delicate flake settled on your cheek, melting and running down your face along with the few trails of tears beside it. chifuyu sat next to you, head resting atop yours, making a mental note to apologise for crying into your hair and wetting it slightly. you both were cold, chilled by the cool concrete stairs touching your legs where you sat on them and the sparse snowfall began to get heavier. peke j had found shelter under your boyfriendβs hoodie, only peeking his little, pink nose and mouth out to lick the hand chifuyu held tightly. you found the rough swipes of the catβs tongue strangely comforting as the already grey sky had begun to deepen in colour, nightfall beginning to make itself known to the city.
βyβknew heβd be here, didnβt you?β your voice was quiet, trembling due to the cold and your soft sobs that were beginning to subside. βthink he still comes here to see if keiβs come home yet.β he murmured, also feeling tired from shivering in his minimal layers, knitted hoodie not doing the job he thought it was going to do. chifuyu reached over to where the black cat was licking your hand to stroke the warm fur on his little head. ββs not coming home, jβ¦ not this time,β a mewl left the fluffy animal, βi knowβ¦ miss him, too.β you hadnβt expected chifuyu to show up at your door on the morning of an unpleasantly cold winter day. heβd made multiple attempts to get you to come on a walk with him, seeing as youβd hardly left the house since the 31st of october but every time youβd rejected his proposal.
chifuyu had come to realise that he missed many things at the moment. he missed going on little strolls in the evenings with you, sitting in the park wondering if it would start snowing whilst you were out in the late hours of the day, coming home and cuddling whilst he sat and told you about the new manga series he found. chifuyu missed you, and he missed baji. although less than usual, heβd still seen you through the dull month that had been november, and he knew that he could still call you if you really werenβt in the mood to see anyone. he understood that, and he was okay with it. chifuyu was more than happy to give you the time and space you needed to somewhat recover from what had recently happened. he knew you were still there, he could still talk to you. he couldnβt speak to baji anymore, though. he canβt see baji anymore. neither of you can, no one can. heβs gone and no one can bring him back to him. talking to that tall stone surrounded by flowers was starting to get tiring. heβd never enjoyed it in the first place, but he just wanted a simple reply from his dear friend. a single phrase, a word, anything. things probably wouldβve felt somewhat better if kazutora hadnβt gone and put himself back in that dismal cell.
amongst all this, chifuyu had also missed his cat. everyone knew peke j was important to chifuyu, especially you. you knew that cat reminded him of baji with his thick mass of fur and striking yellow eyes, feisty and playful in nature. you remembered the pair getting on like wildfire when they met each other, and baji had almost put the kitten in his pocket before he left. neither you or chifuyu had thought it would be possible to form such a human-like friendship with an animal, but he had done just that. such a close friendship that peke j would take the odd stroll over to his house and sit and mewl at the window. more often than not you would be sitting in bajiβs room doing homework together and hearing a familiar pat pat pat on the glass before your friend slid it open and took the cat into his arms like it was his own.
βyeah, but you knew heβd be here.β you peered up at him after blinking away the fresh tears brimming in your sleepy eyes. he was so cute. his little nose was ruddy from the cold and his cheeks were dusted with the same light pink colour. his lips had dark red splotches placed in particular areas where heβd bitten and picked at them, and his hands, one of which had come up to dry your eyes, were still warm and his knuckles had that similar dusting of ruddiness on them. βhm, surprised you didnβt.β the few loving kisses being pressed to the crown of your head was enough to make the welling tears spill over again. through your blurry vision you looked down at the remainder of the stairs that you sat atop. βdβyou think heβs walking up the stairs right now, βfuyu?β you sniffled and jerked a finger towards the grey steps, βdβyou think heβll show up at the bottom of these in a second?β chifuyuβs shoulders deflated with a deep exhale. βtheyβre always doing stupid things, arenβt they? kei and kazβ¦ always playing stupid pranks on us and stuffβ¦β you could hardly keep your voice from wavering as your bottom lip quivered. βthink theyβre doing it again? they are, arenβt theyβ¦ assholesβ¦ not fuckinβ funny are they, βfuyu?β

- honestly he doesnβt enjoy christmas that much :(
- doesnβt feel the same without his siblings especially decorating the tree
- would much rather lay in bed and cuddle like it was any normal day, maybe take a walk and enjoy how quiet it is for once. go for a spin on his bike with you on the back and not acknowledge all the christmas trees he can see in people's windows
- and then you had to come and persuade him to try and do it with you

- actually enjoyed it in the end and liked looking at the pretty lights <3

- definitely gets a little stressed out sometimes because he kinda has a big family and heβs a generous person and wants to buy things for everyone and make plans but apart from that he loves it

for your entire ballet career, you would always admire and respect your seniors for the absolute dedication they had for their skills. watching their feet turn red and sore from spinning, jumping and stretching for hours on end had you in complete awe.
ballet is a sport. there's no doubt about it. when it comes to the years of raw talent and commitment it takes for an individual to even call themselves a ballerina, one couldn't even deny it - ballet is hard work, and yet, you loved it.
yes, the training could get stressful and altogether painful. there were times when you wanted to throw away your imposing amount of practice, yet there were also times that made you proud to be able to elegantly dance your heart out, like a dove gliding in the wind.
so, why were you currently standing in front of some foolish boy, hands stuffed in his pockets while looking at the floor (his disinterest couldn't be more noticeable) with your teacher informing you that you had to teach him how to perform at the same level as you in just a week?
"a week? i'm sorry ms. choi but i don't think that's possible,". crossing your arms, you eyed him up and down, making it clear that you were most definitely not at all fond of the idea of even trying to teach him just the basics, and in only seven days? no chance.
he seemed to mirror your actions. proceeding to bring his arms to his chest and fold them, he smirked at your frustration.
oh? so he's got an attitude too?
"______, i'm sure with enough hard work, you can teach sunghoon here how to become just as good as you are. i'm also asking you to do this because you are my top student and i don't think anyone else could fit the role perfectly other than you two,".

"indeed so!" she clapped her hands together, an almost evil looking smile cracking across her face. "i've chosen you two to perform the pas de deux at the dance show next week!" your teacher continued.
the pas de deux? next week? your nerves started to kick in, sweat now starting to bead from your hands. you weren't really used to partner work with the opposite sex, let alone with a boy who looked like he couldn't care less about ballet as a whole. hell, he wasn't even wearing appropriate attire; his skinny jeans paired with a knitted red sweater was almost an insult to your burgundy leotard.
there were so many questions. why bring this up now? why with a boy you don't even know? why with a boy who hasn't even danced ballet in his life? why with a boy who was snobbier than a rich private school student? before you could raise any of your concerns, however, your teacher scurried off with a pat on your head, leaving you and sunghoon in silence as you tried to figure out what in the world just happened.
