About Tumblr changes.

So, this isn't really about Tumblr changes as much as it's about changes within the rp community that I've learned about through the observations of others about the shifted / shifting environment in the rp community. For context, since 2011 I've been on this site on and off intermittently due to life changes ( ex. entering college, graduating college, job changes, etc. ). Things were super different back when I started. People were generally friendly with each other, people just wanted to have a good time interacting with each other, there was a larger focus on writing, things were more relaxed, and so on. It seems as if the population within the rp community has dwindled over the years since then, and it's not just because of Tumblr website / acquisition changes. It's hard to pinpoint what exactly caused these changes, and I'm sure any sociologists and psychologists who're involved with the rp community and have been here since 2011 may be able to pinpoint the catalyst.

However, as others have already previously noted in posts, the community seems to be very standoffish, cliquey, exclusive, cutthroat, a place where writing doesn't matter as much as it used to, a place where communication seems taboo, and a place where things such as cyberbullying and stalking occur. It's become a stereotypical high school lunchroom. I'm not saying everyone in the community contributes to this problem because that's just not true, but this is the environment that the rp community has become. It's not the environment I joined Tumblr for, and it's not one I really want to be involved with. I recently saw a post talking about how the community needs to change to allow for new people to join it, but it doesn't seem like it's going to. This environment ( the current state of the rp community ) is not conducive to collaborative writing, which is what rp is. However, when clique mindsets and exclusionary behavior are perpetuated, it won't get better. New people won't join, and longtime / current users will continue leaving. The community has been stressful for a long time, but it's only become worse. With 2020 being what it's been, I think we can all agree that the last thing a person needs is added stress.

I'd like to write collaboratively / rp, but again it's difficult to do so in an environment that doesn't feel like an encouraging place for that. I'm not leaving this acct behind, but I need to voice these observations.

To that end, he removed the black-and-silver weapon from his hip, holding the hilt perfectly horizontal. “The Light and Dark represent two sides of the same coin, so to speak. Your exposure to the Knights of Ren has likely given you a garbled idea of what they try to represent, so allow me to clarify. Peace tempers passion. Both sides crave knowledge, victory, the freedom therein. My predecessors would have gone as far as to call the Jedi liars for not admitting it; I disagree. In any case…”

One crimson blade was ignited, its quiet humming barely distinguishable from the holo’s soft static. “On the one side you have the philosophy of the Jedi, the code you likely already studied ad nauseum before now—preaching peace, serenity, and harmony in the face of adversity. On the other…” He ignited the opposite blade calmly and continued. “The Sith code is more direct, in my opinion; a chain of logic leading from passion, to power, to personal freedom. I propose two Councils, working off of each other, and whose power will be checked by a separate legislative system. Consider this an offshoot from General Organa’s government ideals, as opposed to a replacement of them.”

       There's tenable circumspection to be discerned in her gaze as it hones in on the lone object held by the individual with whom she's presently confabulating. Though the light in her verdant environment cannot cause it to scintillate for most apparent reasons, the object still manages to glint. Perhaps there's lighting of some sort in his environment. For now, it's an inconsequential detail that she tucks away in her mind for further rumination should it manage to entice her to give more consideration to. Though she can acknowledge the duality of the FORCE, the duality of opposing sides embroiled in a crusade for dominance gives her reason to pause. For while she benefits from a sliver of the knowledge possessed by one and while she gleans pleasure from perusing the convoluted texts she took with her from AHCH-TO, the Jedi are extinct now. Incapable of legitimately being considered a side. Yes, the LIGHT remains, but it's not espoused by a fellowship of lionhearted yet pretentious luminaries. Nevertheless, she refrains from speaking this aloud.

         Instead, prudently, she focuses on the larger picture. There's a significant lesson to be learned here, and she'll be damned if she doesn't take advantage of this opportunity. ❝ The Luke I met didn't seem to care for the code too much. He just encouraged me not to reach for the Dark. I read the code on my own. ❞ For a fleeting yet appreciable moment, she purses her lips as she ponders a point that's exceptionally tempting to articulate. Ultimately, she proceeds to mention it. ❝ Committing only to one side of the Force for one's life seems impossible in a galaxy with war, but the Dark can be deceiving. It knows what you want, but it doesn't give it to you. People use it to take what they want, but not all things can be taken. ❞ However, his plan may allow for the strongest features of both to work together in harmony or something akin to harmony, at least. ❝ If the two councils agree to meet regularly with a medium type of group - the system you're talking about, maybe middle ground can be found. Maybe the two councils can coexists. What would you do to make sure the system is neutral though? ❞

Been a good while, but hope everyone is doing well! I’ve actually been working with a super fabulous commissioner to give the blog’s appearance a revamp due to the whole Tumblr wonky update dash situation being weird. I’m no longer a dash-only blog, and I’m just about done getting it set up. I didn’t want to write until it was finished. Once it’s done, I’ll be tossing out a promo and getting activity back here. Since I’m almost ready, just wanted to give people the heads up.

The reputation of the Sith Order as a concept far precedes us; that much has always been clear.” Darth Trayous had made his peace with that fact long ago, but he wasn’t about to let it dampen his drive to make something more of this tentative alliance. Something that could last generations.

“You’ll be pleased to learn I have some ideas to that end, actually—after this war, I mean. I would ideally be discussing them with General Organa, but they concern you just as much as I, being Grand Master and all. Models of government based on balance, on both sides of the Force playing to their strengths and working as a whole. Does that satisfy your concern, for the time being?”

      Steadily and without a shred of reluctance or even a semblance of it, she gives a resolute nod to convey agreement. From generation to generation, tales of the Sith and their innumerable deeds have been passed down across the galaxy. It’s all too easy for her to recall being regaled with engrossing stories about them, the Jedi, and the Force itself during the arduous years that she spent on Jakku. There always seemed to be an imperishable sort of consistency in how those enlivening storytellers would depict the Sith as fearsome and duplicitous menaces. So, he’s correct to respond as he has.

    ❝ General Organa is unavailable, but she’s entrusted me with representing the Resistance during this meeting. ❞ An expression that imperfectly blends curiosity with perplexity affixes itself to her face as she prompts him to further elaborate. ❝ No, it doesn’t. I want to hear more about the models. You say they involve both sides of the Force, but which strengths do you think that the Dark Side has? ❞

it was usual for her to wake up in the midst of night and wander for a little while. ever since changing sides, syla always felt as if she was bringing the trouble along with her, and for her own piece of mind, she’d go get some fresh air and calm herself in order to sleep a couple more hours before going back to work.

it was then she found rey. smiling gently, she marched over and sat down next to her, staying silent for a moment, merely appreciating the silence. until she broke it. “couldn’t sleep as well, or is there something else?”

      Sleeplessness isn’t some novel concept to the lionheart. It never has been, and never will be. From disquieting whispers of incertitude plaguing her mind to befuddling dreams of places she’s certainly ne’er ventured to, hindrances have greedily robbed her of restful slumber for as long as she can recall. Even during her earliest days on Jakku, deafening sounds associated with relentless storms would ensure that tranquil sleep was but a tantalizing impossibility to her. Lately, the culprit behind her inability to rest soundly is a mixture of regret and longing. Dreams not of potential futures, but haunting memories of the recent past.

      Tremendously, she appreciates distractions from contemplation of those indelible memories. So, it’s why a modest and genial smile tugs at her lips when she finds herself given company. ❝ Couldn’t sleep. ❞ It seems as if neither of them could. It’s likely not an uncommon situation among fighters faced with discouraging odds of architecting a brighter future. ❝ What about you? ❞

       Her gaze is unfaltering and penetrating as she acknowledges the hologram before her. ❝ The RESISTANCE won’t inconvenience you on your path to stop the FIRST ORDER. ❞ Inconspicuously, she purses her lips in a contemplative fashion. There’s an evident inadequacy to that statement as she cannot guarantee that none of the doughty insurrectionists comprising the group will accidentally complicate matters for the individual with whom she presently speaks. 

      ❝ The RESISTANCE won’t intentionally do so. We do want to know what comes after the FIRST ORDER falls. One of the galaxy's problems is Dark Side users filling the void left by other Dark Side users and trying to control planets. Do we have reason to believe you’ll continue the cycle? ❞

Just a few more  BLOG UPDATES. 

First, ASTRAHEART -> FABLETROVE. 

Along with this, I’ve done a bit of a revamp. This includes adjusting muses. I haven’t removed any, but the primary main muse of this account is Rey from SW while the secondary main muse is Ellie from TLOU. I did remove at least one Rey verse. I'd remove all of my TROS related verses were it not for the fact that I'd like to interact with TROS muses like Jannah, so I figure that having a couple of TROS-related verses might help with that.

A couple of quick things. I want to emphasize that for stress-free and enjoyment purposes, I’m really trying to keep my following list to people who are actively interested in writing together ( both new partners who are interested and those who’ve been in my life for a good while and are still interested ). If you are interested in writing together and we don’t have a thing going, please let me know.

One of the things I’m doing differently with this account is not following back until a thread has not only been initiated but gone through several rounds. This is because one situation I encountered on previous accts was writing starters for people who’d requested them only for those starters to never be responded to.

a snort came from her, hiding her mouth with her hand while trying not to laugh at his insistence of not being called mister, even though she was using it as mocking, which pretty sure he knew. laurel was a polite woman, mostly for her father’s teaching and living in gridania that she always forget she has a sailor’s mouth. well, the red head kinda knew about that, after she went into a rant with colorful vocabulary. 

getting into the lab was kinda easy that she questioned reno’s cautious words but decided not to voice it, it was more important in beginning her experiment than begin another discussion. taking out her crystal, that was quite bigger than her hand, the xaela began walking around, searching something to put it on and begin pushing bottoms. if cid were here, though he would know where to begin (and compliment the whole lab, pretty sure this was more advanced that what she has seen from his creations).

“we just need a place to charge it, seeing that i don’t have the other crystals to activate it, maybe charging it could do the job” the lancer really didn’t know what she was saying nor have any idea of how to activate the crystal at all. all that she has are the memories from that time when dealing with the warriors of darkness and urianger telling her to take out her crystal.

maybe it would be the same thing? she has no idea, her only hope is the same thing that she helped to send back ardbert and his group back to the first.

       with his arms crossed, he observes his idiosyncratic acquaintance as she explores their surroundings. though his posture may give the appearance of one suffering from thinly veiled impatience and time is indisputably of the essence, it’s not with a lack of patience that he beholds the sight of her removing her otherworldly crystal from where she’s kept it stored.

       regardless, he promptly furrows scarlet brows when she speaks once again.

       ❝ a place to charge a crystal? you know, SHINRA doesn’t just keep chargers for weird things from other dimensions lying around. ❞

         canting his head, he continues to display his befuddlement. he’s both bemused and intrigued by her predicament. technically, THEIR predicament considering he’s imprudently tagging along. even if she’ll face worse ramifications should this precarious plan of theirs crumble, whether he’ll have some new inconvenience to be pestered by because of this is dependent upon her success.

❝ with what exactly are you suggesting we charge it? if you’re hoping to stick it in a microwave or something, you’re better off going to a kitchen. not a lab. ❞
