       there was always a slight playfulness to their interactions that matt couldn’t go without anymore. the thumb swiping against his lip only made him grin wider, listening as the other sucked it clean.     ❛ oh yeah? definitely doesn’t have anything to do with you actually wanting a bite or anything, right? ❜     the other’s heartbeat provides him with enough information to pinpoint his location, walking up close to danny, chest pressing against the other’s as he brings the burger up to his own mouth again and takes another large bite, almost to taunt him. 

“Mmmhmmm...” Danny leaned in, and gave the other a light peck on the lips. It certainly did help however, that they had roughly the same height and build. It might have been a little gross, what with Matt having just taken a greasy bite of the burger — which was tempting surely, but he did have something just a little more tempting right in front of him. “But I’d rather have a bite of you.” Even after all this time, saying that, his heart still did skip a beat.

       ❛ you’re acting like i eat this stuff every day. doofus. ❜     their relationship definitely didn’t lack it’s fair share of friendly banter. in the end, they usually worked things out fairly well. just to annoy daniel more though, matt made it a point to take a big bite out of the hamburger right where the other could see it, a smirk stretching slowly on ketchup-stained lips.     ❛ me eating one hamburger isn’t going to kill you– you’ll live. ❜     he was tempted to add the words drama queen onto the end of that sentence, but instead kept them to himself, his smirk widening.

Danny wasn’t too incensed by it really, “It just makes me feel weird. But you’re right.” The martial artist kept to a strict diet, one that had been cultivated since young; but sometimes indulging in something sinful wouldn’t hurt that much. “Still, in order to cut down on the unhealthiness... I guess I’ll have to share it with you.” He reached over with his thumb then and swiped the sauce from Matthew’s lips before bringing it to his mouth and sucking it clean, returning the smirk he got from the other.

“You messing my your chi already messes with mine you doofus.” The fact that their souls were intertwined was one that few were privy to; but magic users like Strange and aura readers would certainly be able to tell. It wasn’t all sunshine and roses however, but rather a push-pull relationship, just like their actual relationship — as evident by the situation right this very moment.

He explained, as if it were valid enough; though not untrue, it wasn’t the reason he was currently masquerading as his friend again. Danny, however, hid that from his tone. He just wasn’t willing to share it yet.

          “I thought we could hang.”

Firstly, Matt didn’t very much get mail. Physical mail. Unless it was for the firm directly and could be read out for the ‘blind man’ – though not as if that would stop him tracing over the lettering and figuring it out. So it was more than unusual to end up with a passed letter under his door. Expecting some sort of bill meant that as soon as he flipped open the page he ended up throwing it down again. Damn magic. Strange, Danny, the rest of them; he could never predict that damn stuff. “What sort of message–” But then it’s registered, and after another moment of laying things out in his head, it’s a quick voice command to record tonight’s episode of House, please, and a groan as the hood is slipped on.

        “Damn it, Danny. I was going to try for a night off.” Who was he kidding. He never had nights off.

At least the trip to whatever magical (again, ugh) portal mentioned was quick. Hold on, Danny. I’m still going to rip you a new one for doing this – but hold on.

He was currently trying to burn through the ropes, though something was inhibiting his usage of his powers as evident by the wounds that would not heal. Blood was dripping from the gash on his forehead and flowing freely into his eye, stinging it and blurring his vision. Daniel didn’t exactly know what Davos wanted with him, but he could take a guess, considering he was always after the same thing, his chi and the thing that made him the Iron Fist. But it seemed that his nemesis wasn’t working alone — and Danny had foolishly thought that perhaps Davos had finally changed after their last ‘meeting’. At least, Davos needed him alive, of that Danny was sure, for he was still breathing at this moment. Of course, he really rather get out of here, and he wasn’t going to just sit down and take it. He had to play a part in his only rescue if there even was one happening right now — Daniel really hoped there was.

The ropes seemed to burn into his skin more than actually fraying apart, and he gritted his teeth in obvious pain. There wasn’t much time before Davos came back after reporting to his superiors, (‘equals,’ Davos had said to him, but Danny knew better,) so he bore through the agony even as he felt blood run down his bruised hands. But then he heard a faint noise and went completely still.

        “Goddamn it, Danny!”  Misty snapped, turning towards him.

They were so close to each other, he was practically straddling her back. Any other day she would actually enjoy being so close to him, given the rarity of the situation nowadays. Being underground in a Kree base wasn’t exactly romantic either. 

              “Can’t you find somewhere else to hide?”

          “Don’t really have the time to search for one at this moment.             I’ll take what I can get, seeing as this is the nearest cover.”

He didn’t want to argue, not when there was more important matters literally looming over them. The fact that they were prone to doing just that more often as of late, only furthered his need to avoid falling into that again. They couldn’t afford that distraction now.
