I haven’t logged onto Tumblr in probably a year or longer but I’m going to use it to write out my feelings about an event that happened today so I can move past it and thats about it.
I stopped at my local Starbucks in the same shopping center as my work to grab a drink on this nice day of beautiful weather after saying whats up to my boss who has been on paternity leave for 2 weeks.
Of course, Im there during peak hour and the building its decently filled. I don’t care how long I wait because I literally have no other urgent plans. I’m there for a while but I don’t take time to scan the room expect the guy next to me started a subtle conversation about our drink orders.
I get my drink, I leave. Walking to my car, three teenage girls stop me to ask if I knew a man in there, because he was taking pictures of me.
Thoroughly creeped out and in honest disbelieve that this is even happening, they further tell me that they were of my body, cropping out the people around me, and over all just really creepy angles trying to capture the frame of my body...
30 seconds later i’m back in Starbucks with these girls, confronting him about this disgusting behavior. He didn’t deny it and the look in his eyes was unmoving-- like this is a regular occurrence for him.
I see the pictures. Its real. and very creepy.
I told him to delete them, but honestly, I know theyre not gone and I believe he uploaded them onto a website.
Im pretty loud, embarrassing and exposing this pervert in the store. A lot of under 18 teens and kids frequent this Starbucks because I live in a walking community and the Starbucks is across from a lake people walk their dogs, etc.
I informed the manager about him while he was still in the store. After that he gets up and tries to leave. I block him slightly making his exit even more uncomfortable -- but again, I don’t think he felt remorse.
A couple men in the store made comments but after that I stopped by work again to tell my boss and chill for a second so I wouldnt see this guy on my way home.
I wrote this to channel my negative feelings -- anger, disgust, etc.
I dont want this to manifest in my mind, which causes people who have gone through what i did-- and far worse -- to direct those feelings at themselves. I dont want to feel grossed out, upset, etc. Writing it down is a good way to process, reflect, and move on from negative things (for me at least).
