I got a peloton membership to access their rowing classes (membership for the classes not the machine* lol) because i prefer rowing with someone who paces for me and honestly so far it’s okay except the instructors often just stop rowing to talk - messing up my pace - and also they talk SO MUCH. they never shut up. I need RFK Jr to invent a fitness instructor that turns up the music and only hypes for a minimum of 10s per min, no more.

I enjoy the little distance graph though.

not to be a toxic gym bro but my other Peloton hot take is that if the class is intermediate+ the instructors shouldn’t be wasting five minutes of it teaching form. I know they have to because people who’re super fit join thinking they’re ready, then cause themselves injury with bad form. but they should warn about that or add a skippable ten minutes of pick drills before class starts so that I don’t have to spend five+ min learning form every class

Two things that amused me about Gaudy Night

b) the way they start the novel off thrashing Mary Stokes as having once been brilliant but wilting into stupidity after marriage and children. I know this was setting the stage for Harriet’s anxiety but you still expect to hear a little more about Mary Stokes. I thought, for sure, we were going to find out the mystery was about her illness. Nope. The final word on Mary really was just marriage made that bitch dumb lmaoooooooooo
