.。.:*❀ DRACO DIDN’T EXPECT ventura to try and help him in the issue with his prince. truthfully, he wasn’t sure that anything would help. he thought that, maybe, he would have to force himself to come to terms with the fact that he may never talk to his prince again. he should have known better, though. this was ventura he was speaking to, after all. always ever the optimist, she was. ❀*:.。.
.。.:*❀ MISMATCHED EYES ROLLED in amusement when her bright smile instantaneously replaced the pout and, on any other night, a small smile of his own might have made its way to his lips, but he couldn’t manage even so much as a smirk with the knowledge that things were still on a razor’s edge with his prince. ❝ i have no doubt, ❞ he said, nodding slightly. however, he was a bit surprised that she didn’t insist on the dance right then and there. relieved, definitely, but surprised. however, he was even more surprised when she was suddenly pointing a finger in his face and telling him to do the one thing that he was terrified of. ❝ i — no, no, keep the pout away, but — ventura, i – i can’t do that. ❞ his voice was smaller than usual and he swallowed hard. ❝ the other night was — it wasn’t … it was a mess. i’m certain that a prince like him would much rather have nothing to do with … with someone like me. especially on a night such as tonight. ❞ still, despite his better judgement, his eyes scanned the crowd for his prince, mismatched eyes widening slightly when he caught sight of casper out of the corner of his eye. ❀*:.。.
VENTURA COULDN’T SAY that she’d ever been in this exact situation. hell, she didn’t even know what exactly had happened between the two of them. what she did know was that draco loved his prince and that he deserved his happy ending. he’d been through too much not to. she would try her damn best to give him the sun or the moon if he asked for it.
when draco didn’t smile along with her, she couldn’t help but be disheartened. she was usually able to coax something out of him, but not this time, apparently. whatever it was must have been bad. she didn’t like forcing draco to do things, especially when he seemed to shy away from it, even, but she couldn’t just leave things as they were. if there was one thing she’d learned in her life, it was that you needed to try as much as you could, and sometimes that was all you could do. ❝ you can, ❞ she insisted. ❝ you’re draco, and draco can do anything, especially talk to the man he really, really likes. ❞ she placed her hands on her hips. it was rare that she was ever this bossy, but sometimes drastic times called for drastic measures. ❝ i’m sure he wants to talk to you, too !! ❞ from what she’d heard and seen of casper, anyway.
she noticed the slight change in draco’s expression and moved closer to him so she could follow his gaze. casper wasn’t hard to pick out from a crowd, and she grabbed draco’s hand the moment she did, squeezing it, a grin on her face. ❝ just go to him. ❞
THE MOMENT HE walked into prom, casper started looking around. he could pretend that he didn’t know what ( or rather, who ) he was searching for all he wanted, but he knew the truth. he didn’t even know if draco was here, and part of him wondered if he’d even turned up.
his lips parted slightly as he caught sight of draco, and he simply stared, wondering if he should go over or run away. he was frozen while his mind danced between the two options.
