On Friday night Portland witnessed a horrific attack that left two men dead and another victim wounded. These men died defending two girls who almost become victims of a hate crime. In the aftermath of this tragedy the girls are suffering immense trauma. Although they survived their lives and the lives of the victim’s families will never be the same.
To help them heal from this traumatic event we are raising funds to help allow the girls to move on and feel safe in the future. Money will go toward basic necessities like meals, transportation and most importantly mental health services. As anyone can imagine it will be difficult going anywhere after what they witnessed especially on public transportation. This city is in pain, and so are all of the victims of this tragedy.
Our hearts go out to the heroes who gave their lives to save two strangers who could have lost theirs.
