lol when you’re so sad that your chest hurts and your phone vibrates and you’re like “oh good, someone actually wants to talk to me” but it’s just an email from Michaels about their 30% off sale.

I posted an article on facebook about an hour ago about a girl who committed suicide. The article was about how people with mental illnesses hide them well over social media, and how we shouldn’t judge a person’s happiness by what they post online. This is all well and good, but now I’m feeling really conflicted. I can’t help but feel that if that girl was around to read that article, she would be mortified and humiliated that some stranger was very publicly analyzing very private details of her life. Mental illness is not a spectator sport, or something for people to gawk at. And I feel almost as if that article was just giving people something to stare at in a way.
