‘  maybe i should become a hair stylist, after all.  ’   watch as she changes her mind about her future profession for the fourth time this week.

Ohoho, it sounded like Nell was getting serious! Chey couldn’t see the little girl’s face, but she imagined her expression was as adorable as ever. The thought made her smile broaden.

“I can’t wait to see what you have in store for me, Miss Stylist!” she chirped. Flowers bloomed delicately in the grass around them—a clear sign Chey was as excited as she seemed. Some even bloomed in her hair, though she trusted that Nell would use those flowers to her advantage. 

          no matter how many times she witnessed it,  nell was certain she could never truly get over the fact that chey could simply...   make flowers appear.   in her hair.   it was unbelievably pretty,  and unbelievably unfair,  and maybe nell should wish for permanent flower crowns too,  because that would be gorgeous and cool and it would look totally cute on her.

          but that's a topic for another day.   for now,  she has work to do!

          gingerly,  the girl began brushing the other's pink locks with her fingers,  squinting as she tried to envision her next masterpiece.   it wasn't long before nell had gone to work,  already started on one side of chey's head.   ’  you're gonna look gorgeous.   but enough about my genius  --  how has your day been,  ms chey?  ‘  she asked,  knowing that being a hair stylist meant getting to know your client!

The nine-year-old’s request made the genie laugh, merriment coursing through her at the thought of such a fun activity.

“Of course not! You’ve gotta say the words ‘I wish’ and all that!” Chey set the girl down and knelt so as to give her better access to her bright pink locks. “Go right ahead, my lil goober!”

          the little girl couldn't help but giggle at the nickname - - had anybody else called her that,  she would've probably stuck her tongue out and promptly ignored them for a week.   it simply felt right coming from chey,  though,  so nell decided she didn't quite mind.

          as chey knelt down,  nell instantly rolled up her sleeve - - little wrist adorned with all sorts of hair ties and ribbons.   the child cleared her throat,  all business-like, ‘  a’ight,  miss chey,  you're lookin' a' the greatest hair stylist in the whole world - - in the whole continent, even.   all the other genies will be so jealous of your hair once I'm done!  ‘

         arms wrapped gently around the other's neck, nell grins and braces herself for the lift - - only to squeal in surprise and delight when the spin came. she wasn't expecting it, but she's certainly not complaining!

If we ship something (or our characters otherwise have a very developed relationship romantic or not) know that I definitely want to talk about it. All the time. I am totally willing to talk headcanons, scenarios, do plotting, all of that– but I don’t want to seem like I’m being pushy by bringing our muses’s relationship up. I just want to know that if I do talk about that sort of stuff with our characters that I don’t come off as annoying… Or seem like all that I’m thinking about is our ship. If you do let me know it’s okay to talk about it whenever, though, totally expect me to send you anything I think of when it comes to our muses relationship! There’d certainly be no shortage of things to talk about. I just want to make sure that you’re just as engaged in it as I am.
