I know this little blog is brand new, but I shifted things around a bit because my main it was attached to was getting a Very overwhelming dash. So. This little blog is being shfited over to @corvusrookery, a main blog for my Dragon Age fun times! Everything will be the same, I just gotta get it all set up again!

"I have you," Teia declared triumphantly, her dagger held to the knot of Viago's neck and just barely kept from drawing blood. They'd traded blows for nearly half an hour, unable to break through each other's defenses. It seemed they'd fought side-by-side for too long and knew all the other's secrets and techniques.

Somehow, though, Teia had managed to prevail. She'd slipped through his guard and now stood, knife to throat. "Do you yield?" she asked him, a mischievous lilt to both her tone and her smile.

He wished, painfully, that he could claim anything but fatigue had caused the slip in his guard, and the bitterness of that self-honesty would sit on his tongue for some time. For all that he enjoyed their spars - for all the practice they had had lately in fighting side-by-side - his own failure still left his pride smarting. An ever-tender bruise.

But, one easier to ignore as his pale eyes moved from the dagger to meet Teia's. Her mischief was...catching. And - almost against his will - he felt his initial frown ease a bit. Not gone, but...well. Evidently, he needed to work at his endurance.

"To you, Andarateia Cantori? Only a fool would think he could escape fast enough." He paused, tipping his head ever-so-slightly to avoid the blade. "I yield."

Sure was gonna do more tonight, but loading my boss' car with the goodie bags for the event next week took it outta me. So I shall do my proper blog maintenance when I don't have a bedtime hanging over my head.

That said, some memes are in the queue and I will try and hop on a bit at work maybe, if anyone wants to chat! For now, Argent needs to go pass out; 6am comes too quick when it's already 11:30.

I'm still finalizing blog things but. But. Was making an edit of my Mourn Watch Rook, Vilma, and y'all. I love her so much. I love their veilfire scars. I love her Wrong eyes (the black sclera, the cat-like pupil in her right eye). I love her spellblade awesomeness.

I may love my Crows very much, but Vilma Ingellvar sure was a hell of a second run and I love her dearly.

Pale eyes never moved from the vial in gloved hand, even as dark brows furrowed over them, letting Teia yell at him as he moved the glass with care. Only when it was nestled safely within the gentle embrace of a cushioned cradle did he finally turn to look at the other Talon. His frown had made its way down his face to rest on his mouth, leaving the man glaring at his- at- at her

"I believe you missed 'neurotic, arrogant, upstart bastard' but I am sure it was coming."

The merest hint of the rustling of cloth, and Viago's arms had crossed his chest, head tipping down slightly to look askance at his...company.

And if some of her words bit to the quick, he had learned long ago to push such things away. Emotions got in the way, more often than not. They had their place...but answering Teia with his own quick-temper would only end with them both sore. No matter how bitterly his tongue rested in his mouth, eager to cut back.

"Before you proceed to rake me over the coals you have so thoughtfully prepared, do you care to tell me what it is I've done this time? Or are you just shouting at me because you're bored?"

For anyone new to me and my shenanigans, before I get a pinned post up this evening-ish:

Hello all, I am Argent (she/they)! If we have never interacted before, I have something of a habit of landing myself in a fandom and promptly collecting 10+ muses, like the little dragon I am. So by the end of next week I'm sure I'll have more to bother y'all with!

I commute over an hour to work, and spend a lot of the day either working or commuting as a result, so I am usually only active in the evenings or weekends. I am almost always available via discord though, and mutuals are always welcome to ask for it!

On a different note, I am going to try and have the blog mostly ironed out by tonight/tomorrow, so that you actually have information on who exists here, how I play them, and can actually find that info!

Issala de Riva Muse Info

Name: Issala de Riva Name Meaning: A combination of the name they think they were called by their mother, and what the merchant prince called her. 'Is' from 'Isabella', which is what the merchant prince called her. 'Sala' comes from Asala, the Qunlat word for 'soul,' which is all they remember their mother calling them.

Gender: Nonbinary (They/Them) Race: Qunari Skintone: Cool blue-gray Eyes: Black sclera, wolf-blue iris Build: Tall and muscular, but worryingly thin Distinguishing Features: Scars on her back and thighs from canes; a Crow tattoo across her arm and upper-back.

Personality: Cocky, sarcastic, but deeply compassionate. Quick with a joke but always willing to lend an ear. Loyal to the Crows and Antiva (in that order), but to Viago more than either. Can play politics with the best when needed (Viago is entirely to blame), but prefers to play to their honest nature and sincere heart. Uncomfortable with lying or concealing from those they love. From Viago, they learned a great deal about poisons, and are almost as paranoid as he is about being poisoned. While they curb this paranoia well in the Lighthouse (and food made among friends), they never eat or drink publicly, and have almost as high a resistance as their Talon to many poisons. They also wear gloves outside the Lighthouse, though are willing to expose more skin than Viago is.

History:(tw for child abuse and strongly implied molestation)

Around the time of the Fifth Blight (when Issala was 7), they were being raised by a single mother, a qunari who had fled the Qun and come to Antiva. Issala does not know whether they were born under the Qun or in Antiva, but it is Antiva that holds their earliest memories.

While the Blight raged in Fereldan, their mother grew ill, and inadvertently upset one of the merchant princes who frequented her stall in the market. Desperate to curb the ire of the prince, Issala's mother offered anything in her stall for him to take. The Prince chose Issala.

Two years later, Viago was sent on one of his first solo contracts as a fully fledged Crow: to kill a merchant prince who had been causing a little too much trouble, earning the ire of his fellow oligarchs and the people alike. When he got there, he found a young qunari - stripped naked - shaking and clutching to a small pen knife, the merchant dead on the bed.

For whatever reason, the young Crow agreed, and brought Issala back to his House, where they were trained and, eventually, became a fully fledged Crow themselves. By the time they had their run-in with the Antaam commander that saw them in polite exile, Issala had been a Crow for 3 years.

Vilma Ingellvar Muse Info

Name: Vilma Ingellvar Name Meaning: Vilma means 'helm' or 'armor', while Ingellvar is a compound surname that means "protected life" in modern Nevarran. In ancient Nevarran, however, it means "noble defender of Life."

Gender: Genderfluid (Nonbinary/Female, uses mainly she/her pronouns) Race: Qunari Skintone: Cool blue-gray, very pale Eyes: Black sclera, soft lilac/lavender iris; cat-like pupil in the right eye Build: Long-limbed (even for a qunari). Well-built but slender/flexible. Short for a qunari (still noticeably taller than most humans) Distinguishing Features: Healed scarring over the right side of her face from the War of the Banners. More extends down the right side of her body, a combination of magic and physical wound scars. In the right light (veilfire, mostly) the scars on her face glow slightly, and look bigger & nastier. Tattoos: Vilma has a few Mourn Watch tattoos on her body. A snake centered above the bridge of her nose on her forehead, and another winding around her right arm are the most predominant, though a snake wrapped around a skull adorns her left thigh.

Fashion: Generally wears light leathers and close-fitting robes, better suited to the close-combat fighting they prefer. Very proud of being a Mourn Watcher, they wear green, gold, and purple primarily.

Personality: Deeply compassionate but also stern. Disciplined and cool under pressure. Takes no shit from anyone, but offers kindness where able. Practical, especially in manner and dress, which extends to being willing to lie or conceal when needed. Easily excited by undead and magic, passionate about the Mourn Watch and loyal to Nevarra. Has a wry and wicked sense of humor, seen most as things get more stressful. Tends to edge towards gallows humor the worse things get.

History:

Found in a tomb of the Grand Necropolis as an infant by undead, Vilma was raised by the Mourn Watch both before and after their magical talents manifested. They formally joined the Mourn Watch as soon as they were able, studying to become a Master Necromancer. Their bond to the undead was, unsurprisingly, deep and abiding, more so than most acolytes of the Watch.

Vilma thrived in combat magic, specializing in what might be called 'spellblade' tactics, where they learned to shift between an elemental orb/dagger combination and a more traditional staff with ease.

When the War of the Banners broke out, Vilma was caught with a small squad of fellow Watchers by the Baron. Expected to retreat, they instead took up orb, dagger, & staff, and led a charge to topple the Baron and his fellow undead nobles. Recognizing the danger these undead nobles posed, Vilma destroyed them, putting them to their final rest.

Despite the necessity, plenty of nobles and Mourn Watchers alike took issue with Vilma's approach, and she was put on a probation. When Varric came to Nevarra, Vilma had become restless, and Myrna suggested it might be beneficial for them to get out of Nevarra for awhile, especially given the volatile nature of the Dread Wolf's goal.
