Sasuke remained silent for a moment, debating what he could really say to help with this kind of situation. Or, at least, how he interpreted the situation. Until recently, it wasn’t as though he had much experience with this kind of thing.
Still…
"I see. Not the kind of reunion you were hoping for, then." Sighing quietly, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders in a half-hug. It may not have been much, but it didn’t hurt to offer all the same. "I…know it’s hard, but you know, I think a smile suits you much better, Tsubaki. Besides," he grinned a little to himself, "maybe if they see you moving on, they’ll realize just what it is they passed up."
He couldn’t know that for sure, of course, but she was a smart woman. No doubt she would realize that much.
It was always difficult for Tsubaki to speak about herself or her issues. She was raised to be humble but proud and also raised to not show weakness. Usually, it was others who came to her to speak of their troubles and she would help them no matter what. Tsubaki was supposed to be the strong one, the person who was able to face any problem without fail...so why is it in a case like this that it has her so torn apart?
But, pride be damned, even she realized how bad of a condition she was in and that meant she should take any help offered. Even if it is just a listening ear, so in this way it was good that Sasuke stopped by. Tsubaki felt more at ease with him some how, perhaps it was his personality and kind words.
Speaking of his kind words, she listened to them silently. Everything he said made sense and little by little they eased away the pain that had ailed her broken heart. She was by no means completely recovered but...because of him Tsubaki was able to muster up a small smile.
"...thank you, Sir Sasuke. I will...try my best. It's very difficult for me but there is nothing else to be done, is there? All that's left is to do as you said, move on."
