Rory! Hi hi, how are you girlie?
I had a question, since you are an amazing writer (no surprise there) I wanted to ask if you had any tips for those who want to get into writing.
Another thing, but that's just me. Do you think it's better to post writing on the main blog or make a different one just for publishing?
Thats all! Hope this wasn't too much.
Iβm doing just fine, Alhamdulillah. How about you??? I hope youβre doing amazing!!
Thank you for the compliment, dear, but I swear I just do normal writing!! And of course, ask for as many tips as you want!
If you wanna get into writing fanfics, you must know that not everyone in the fandom will be happy, and thatβs okay! There will always be someone who tells you that your fanfic is horrible, or that x character wouldnβt do that, blah blah blahβ¦
So my first tip would be not to care about what others have to say about your writing. Yes, constructive criticism is good if you asked for it.
Donβt beat yourself up if you donβt like your first draft β itβs a draft! Donβt constantly correct and rewrite phrases because youβll never finish. Just flow with your writing. Write everything you want to say and, once youβre done, go back and correct it!
PLEASE DONβT WRITE IN TUMBLR DRAFTS! You might lose them, and itβs awful! I use Google Docs to write and then paste everything onto Tumblr to post.
No creativity? Put on some music, scroll through Pinterest, talk to your friends, or even watch movies!! If youβre looking for ideas, youβll find them!
If you wanna start posting, donβt start until you have some drafts ready to be published, because otherwise youβll feel pressured to post β and pressure kills creativity!
And love what you do. Your writing is a piece of your soul, and you owe nothing to anyone, so write! Write whatever you like and love. Write it even if you think itβs bad!
As for the accounts, itβs more of a personal choice!
I have two accounts, but I mainly use this one, where I post everything I want β from essays to fics to personal things!!
If you want to keep things organized, then make two blogs: one for fics and the other for your own stuff.
Remember that when you start posting, no one really sees your fics at first. You might get a like or two, but itβs all a matter of patience and dedication, and eventually everything will flow!
