Not when it’s done in tandem with cultural appropriation. This isn’t being done with the express purpose of turning a bad word into a good word, it’s being done as the result of bastardization because white people wanna be trendy. The current trend isn’t even turning it into a good word, it’s being thrown at men who don’t treat women like objects because it’s supposedly bad and demasculinizing to treat women like people.

There is absolutely nothing good happening around the term ‘simp’. Just use something else.
