!! I'm so glad! Fortunately it won't be taking as many turns as OTD did--the narrative was always pretty cut and dry. It does, however need a few more chapters than I had initially planned, but I don't think that's a bad thing for anyone <3

It's about that time of year (literally within a few days) where I get the gnawing itch to come back to Tumblr and either update everything or do something new. Figured since I just hit a huge milestone, I'd give an update on my plan to finish my in-flight projects:

If you missed it, On the Desk is literally finished. I published the last chapter yesterday. Read it here! Which means...

For the Weekend is the last in-flight project I have going. I'm focusing on that one now, but it still has at least five chapters left, so I'll be drafting the last few chapters soon! And on that note, in a vein similar to OTD, I've given ol' Reader-chan in For the Weekend a real name! She'll now be known as Marley! (Which is very fun, that was an alias I used working CS for my last games job.) Since this story is very personal to me, it makes sense and it fits well! The bright side, is I weened myself off using names in the later chapters, but now I have something to fall back on.

Light Undying, the continuation of Power and Prestige is also finished! I blogged about it during NaNo a year ago and I'm happy to call it done as well. Read it here! That's it for updates! As for future projects, I have 3 ideas that I will pursuing in no particular order. Here are the elevator pitches if you're interested: - Smuggler Ben Solo looking for redemption, rescues a rebellious senator's daughter from her kidnappers that kickstarts a race against time to get her home before the galaxy devolves into civil war. - An office drama sequel to Okay, Fine, featuring the Solo Triplets, the First, Order Coffee Shop, that centers around Ben and RC (Fae) when she and her rival get the same position at Millennium Incorporated for an internship. - A Baldur's Gate story where Ellistine Moonwater, consort of the Vampire Lord Astarion flees her home in Baldur's Gate after five years of a meaningless existence. Her departure sets into motion a series of events that spells the end of the world and the rise of a cult who seeks godhood in the realm of shadows. Features everyone's favorites from BG3 and characters from my homebrew campaign.

And that's basically it! It's actually incredible that I can say I finished two major works this year, I DON'T think FTW will make 3, but I can try! Thanks for reading and I'll see you around!

hello !! i am subscribed to your ao3 and can i just say I haven't had a moment to sit down and read yet but every time i get an email it's like a delightful and very positive punch to the stomach it takes the wind out of me every time you are reinvigorating my love and desire to tear through the Kylo x reader tag for the first time in two years with literally every update. OMG!! Thank YOU so much! It very much feels like these days in the Kylo x Readerverse, it’s been eerily quiet as people have scattered to the winds of other fandoms, but I’m so glad I can contribute to a tiny spark that keeps the love and excitement going ❤️❤️

I have plenty of other works in development that will keep things going— mostly in the Triplet AU (which is my faaaaaaaaaaaaave) so there will be more Kylo coming ❤️ (considering making an update on this blog soon actually as things wrap up and new things start)

Can I request a Kylo Ren x Reader, where the reader is Rey’s older sister and has telekinesis (very powerful) and protects him from all the people who are after him but over use them and pass out but release a energy blast but he catches the reader in his arms and places them his bed and waits till they wake up (you can add the rest)

Welp, I started rolling out that P&P continuation. I have every regret known to man, but I couldn’t not do it. My fiancé was such a huge part in encouraging me love it and care for it and my craft—in a post-fandom world, that is really significant. Also, we’ll be getting married exactly one year from today on May 4th and it just felt like the right time.

NaNo this year has brought me back to my blogs I made for NaNo last year and for the future me who will read this, I want to say that I am very proud of myself and very happy about what I had created. Light Undying still sits in an unfinished state but it’s pure bliss. It’s something I’m still so proud of and I’m happy I shared my happiness on Tumblr where I could go back and read it. Maybe I should go back to blogging my process again just to make future me happy in a year or so ❤️

Post NaNo Blog 1/?

I remember a day like three weeks ago when I decided to just post whatever I had after 30 days. big surprise, I'm still picking at it.

I'm just not happy with it. there's so many important moments that just aren't singing right now. My plan was to post it this weekend, but I just don't think it'll happen.

I think there's a lesson to be learned here in that it's okay if its not perfect--the fact that I did it at all is amazing and I should celebrate it regardless even though I'm trying to salvage what I think is trash.

Well, I did it.

It was not easy and I was just anxious to finish, but I did and it's done. That last week really screwed me and I had a LOT of polish to do which is exactly why I'm not ready to post it just yet. But it's close! I think I have another week or so to move everything around and make it Ao3 ready.

Anyway, I enjoyed my little blogging stint and I hope I'll do it more in the future--and maybe actually start earlier next time? Anyway, time for a nap <3

NaNo Blog...12 I think? I've honestly lost count

Okay so I want to level with myself here--yesterday was not a good writing day for me. Adding these new chapters just..is making me anxious about finishing, I feel like I've now bit off more than I can chew. What that's amounting to is a feeling of worthlessness that only comes when you hear your partner and their father talk about a really good book.

I wish I could say I didn't know what it was that tripped me down, because I know exactly what it was and it's a reality I've been struggling with for a few years now.

I've been actively working on this project now for 25 days straight talking about it with my partner and walking through plot points and where I want to go and what I'm excited about, and it just always feels like its hitting a brick wall and sliding down without even making a dent. Not that they don't care about what I'm doing, I just don't think its reaching them like other books reached them. Maybe because I don't have fanart associated with my work (Which is funny bc I actually do and I've commissioned art as well--I'm actually just remembering that as I'm typing) and maybe bc I didn't do an AMA on Reddit that they just read for hours and just talked about it constantly to me who was actively trying to avoid it so I can work on my stuff.

Am I jealous? Maybe? But at the same time I just want to get absolutely anything I write out the freaking door? I want my partner to be as hyped about what I do as they are about someone else who did it better than me? I want to feel supported?

I dunno, it feels like a big ask and I'm really bummed that I can't trick myself into confidence today because it's just not coming. Like I want to share something today, but to me everything is just ash. as of writing this blog post I'm 41,756/50,000 and I'm going to finish this writing challenge come hell or high water. I just hope that looking back in a few months or so I can be proud and really congratulate myself for this because it feels like I'm the only person in the world (except Tora-chan--please she's my number one friend) who wants this to exist.

NaNo Blog #10-11 - In which I make more work for myself

Because I spent all of my writing time forcing myself to make words, I missed my blog post 🙃 but that’s okay! Because I had a really long discussion with my partner about what I felt my draft was missing after the crisis about the missing Locke. It resulted in the adding of three chapters, including reintroducing a character I originally cut, Councilperson Mimikos who in a way, represents the very first draft of this fic that I wrote in my old writing notebook I used to carry everywhere with me.

So I’ve added three chapters, Dark Teachings, A Bid for the Throne, and Caves of Kyber, all intended to build the red herring of General Locke who will eventually melt away to the REAL BBEG so to speak. I’ve scattered them in the early chapters since there IS a point of no return that once that line is crossed there’s literally no going back. I actually wove the chapters together too well that I really railroaded myself. WHICH IS GOOD! I’m actually really pleased with how the chapter interlock with each other, so I’m about to find out if it scales well. The good news is, since that makes about 4 unwritten chapters, I’m absolutely going to hit the 50k mark I am not worried at all about that. What I AM worried about is posting it like I promised. I think, come hell or high water, this thing is going out on the 1st so I’m gonna really focus on making it as good as possible that way I can celebrate once it’s all over!

NaNo Blog # 8 - What To Do With Locke

No sample today bc I had a bit of a reckoning and I need to refactor a bit of what I've written. Part of what I love about NaNo is pantsing pretty much everything. Unless I absolutely know what I'm going to write (and even when I don't, I still kinda do this), I let any vein of conversation or sequence of events take me as far down as the rabbit hole goes. Which is fun because I always get exciting or horrible things some of which I will be writing in later chapters.

One of the only downside to that is that sometimes, it leaves me with threads that don't go anywhere and I have to take time so figure out if I want to snip them or drag them out. Today, i realized I had a bit of a loose thread in Hendrick Locke, a character who is... a bit of a red herring at this stage which is great--that's where he needs to be, but at the same time, he was the subject of a subplot and that doesn't work with him being a red herring.

On paper, he is the regent appointed after Sera and Tiberius' death, however, he fled before what would be the events of TFA and is now considered missing. Vatari, during that time, enacted a coup and crowned herself queen since he was not there to challenge her. As long as he is outstanding, Vatari's claim to the throne is de-legitimized and in order to make it legit, she needs to find him and prove to the system that he's dead to challenge doubters.

It took several hours, but I figured out a good starting point to put Locke at the center of attention and revisit some other minor characters who took a back seat earlier this month. So exciting! Also more words! I am no longer afraid of not having enough words, I am now on the clock with less than 10 days to go to finish this.
