"Jax!!" Pomni almost cried, running over and grasping him in a tight hug.
"P-Pomni--?" His eyes widened, hands shaking. "But... how am I?.." he looked around, wide eyes landing on Caine.
"I..." he hesitated, landing on his feet. "I found a way to bring everybody back." He fidgeted with his fingers.
Ragatha exhaled, tears falling. She ran over, arms around Jax. "Oh, Jax..."
"...I..." Jax shook. They missed him...
Kinger joined, then Zooble... then Gangle. Then Caine.
Jax let out a sob, holding onto Ragatha's arm, melting into the tight hugs.
"It's fine now.. we're together again." Zooble soothed.
"And... by everyone." Caine pulled back, gesturing to the other side of the room.
Jax wiped his eyes, looking to the other side - so did the others.
Scratch, Ribbit, Kaufmo, Queenie... Wormo, Bizco, Spike... all of them were there.
The... abstracted looked shocked, which was understandable, looking around.
"How?.." Ribbit touched her face, looking at Kaufmo, who stared at his hands.
Jax trembled. He broke from the group hug, stepping forward. "Guys?.."
Ribbit and Kaufmo perked up, glancing at the voice. Ribbit gasped, Kaufmo froze.
"...Jax?.. Jax!!" She ran forward to him, wrapping her arms around the rabbit - who immediately hugged back.
"Ribbit..." his voice cracked, burying his fcae in her shoulder, tears streaming.
Kaufmo's footsteps approached from behind them - his arms wrapping around the two - standing behind Ribbit.
He looked up, noticing Ragatha "Rags?.."
"Oh my god..." she sobbed, rushing over - crashing into Jax's her arms joining the group hug.
"I thought I'd never see you again..." Jax hiccuped, sinking to his knees, the others following.
"Queenie.." he cupped her face.
"My butterfly..." she whispered, tears in her eyes - hugging him.
Kinger gave her a squeeze, kissing her head before pulling away.
His eyes landed on Scratch. "Long time no see..." he extended his hand for a handeshake.
Scratch smiled, a fang poking out. His tail wagged as he took Kinger's hand, shaking it. "Been a long time." He huffed, ears twitching.
Some others of the company walked over - all catching up with some handshakes and hugs.
Meanwhile, Pomni looked over at Gangle with a smile - which the ribbon woman returned.
Zooble put a hand on Caine's shoulder, the AI looking over.
"This is a great thing you did." They said, their eyes saying everything they wanted. Thank you.
Caine smiled... best he could being only teeth and eyes. "Yeah." He looked back, rubbing his arm. "I'm proud of this one."
A few days passed, the circus brighter and a bit... cooky, but it was home.
"I did! And the first AI was a disaster!" Scratch laughed with Pomni, both sitting at the bar, music playing.
"Must've been a real hassel." She chuckled, picking up her drink.
Everybody was sitting at or near the bar, chatting and laughing. Gangle was drawing in a sketchbook, head low.
"Do it!! I'm sure she'll appreciate it!" Ribbit stood up, pulling Jax up.
He scoffed, ears drooping. "And if she doesn't?.."
"Then at least you tried!" Ribbit stepped behind Jax, giving him an encouraging push.
Jax stumbled, giving her a look. He sighed and straightened up, walking over to Gangle.
Jax reached out to tap her shoulder, freezing, and pulling back. He looked back at Ribbit, making hand gestures.
She rolled her eyes and gave him a thumbs up with a smile.
He almost cringed, rubbing his eyes. He sighed roughly, reaching over - gently tapping Gangle's shoulder.
Gangle blinked, looking over. She hunched a bit, cowering. "Y-Yes?.."
"I... I um..." He fidgeted, avoiding eye contact.
"I'm... I am.. sorry. For what I've done to you." His shoulders slumped, looking down.
Gangle paused, surprised. "...Really?"
"Yeah, really, and.. I.. want to change and... um..." He fumbled, looking over to Ribbit for help.
She mouthed a "you got this!!" and waved pom poms in the air, ones she learned to create.
He blushed from embarrassment, groaning. "I want... to make it up to you." He finished, squeezing his hands together.
Gangle lowered her sketchbook and pencil, shocked to say the least. This was the last thing she expected.
He was.. apologizing. Even if it was a struggle, he was stepping outside his comfort zone. She saw that.
He wanted to better their relationship.
"...I..." she hesitated, looking down, thinking.
"I get it. If you don't want to, I mean." He interrupted, shifting back and forth.
"I've been awful... but..." he sighed, finally looking at Gangle. Eyes soft with fear and hope - hands clasped together, hoisted up to his chest.
"I want a chance to fix things. Please..."
She couldn't say no to those eyes.
Gangle hummed, staring. "...I'm... willing to give you another chance." She nodded.
Jax got washed with an overwhelming sense of relief, his shoulders relaxing. "Really?.."
She nodded again, offering him a hesitant smile.
Ribbit clapped, making cheering gestures.
"How about we meet up in my room later? To talk.." Gangle suggested, giving Jax a kind smile.
"Cool beans..!" He gave her two thumbs up, jittering with nervousness.
She chuckled, watching him walk back over to Ribbit, who practically shook him with excitement, Kaufmo beside them, laughing.
"Y'know.." Zooble spoke, standing beside Gangle from the other side of the bar, cleaning a cup. "I'm proud of you."
Gangle hummed, setting her supplies down. "My mother always told me that everybody deserves a second chance if they're willing to take that chance to heart.."
They nodded. "Sounds like good advice... tell me how it goes." Zooble's eyes smiled for them, walking back over to make drinks.
"I will!" She called back, waving.
Her heart raced with anticipation. Can't wait.
"Night, Ribs!" Jax waved, Ribbit waving back, slipping into her room, closing the door.
"Um.. Jax?" Gangle walked behind him.
The rabbit jolted, looking behind him. His ears looked like a bendy straw - all bent and twitching.
"Hey, Gangle.." he chuckled with a wave, all nervous.
She smiled. "You said we could talk in my room?"
Jax nodded, fidgeting with his fingers.
She almost chuckled - this was so unlike him.
She walked with him to her room, both going in and shutting the door - sitting on the bed.
They had a talk. It was... awkward, but genuine. Apologies, explanations... just like the talk Jax had with Ribbit, Kaufmo, and Ragatha.
Now? They were sharing things. Stuff Gangle drew, facts about one another, Jax explaining new hobbies.
"I draw you sometimes.. I like drawing others." She showed him some of them, all perfectly designed.
"Woa... paws, huh?" He raised a brow, Gangle blushing.
"Y-Yeah, well!.. I just thought that... since you're a rabbit." She laughed, rubbing the back of her head.
He chuckled along. "I mean... I do." He shrugged, taking his right glove off.
Gangle's eyes lit up, hands on her cheeks. "Oh my gosh!.. They're so cute!"
Jax blushed from embarrassment, placing his glove on his lap. "Yeah, Ribbit said that too when she first saw them..."
"Uh..." he thought... trust building. "Yeah, okay.."
She nodded, putting her "hand" under his, her silky fabric sliding across his palm gently.
Nobody touched his paws in so very long, he didn't expect them to be do... sensitive.
"Wahaha-- wahahait, ohoho gohohohosh!!" He laughed - looking away.
His mouth opened, sharp teeth seen.
Gangle gasped. "Oh my goodness, I didn't know you were ticklish... and you have sharp teeth?!"
"Ihihi--!! Yeheheheah! Hahahaha!" His fingers curled, but he didn't pull away.
Either because he liked it or didn't want to seem mean was unclear.
"You're this sensitive?" She chuckled, grazing his skin gently.
"Thehehey-- *hic!* ehehehe! Thehey hahahaven't beheheen tohouched in a whihihile! *hic!*" he turned his head away, fingers curling.
"Owh.." she grazed her "fingers" acrossed his palm quicker.
"EEK-!! HEHEHEY-! *hic!*" his foot started to thump, blush spreading.
"Awh, do you like it?" She tilted her head, not going any slower.
"NOHO!" He shook his head - still not pulling away.
"Hmm.. I don't know..~" she giggled along, her hand going up to his wrist.
Her light grazes really affected him.
"Nohohoho-! *hic!* Quihihit ihihit!" Tingles ran up his arm, making him curl up.
"Why? You aren't pulling away!"
"Sohoho *hic!* whahat?! Ihihi'm just-- EEP!!! HEHEHEY!! *hic!*" Jax jumped as she bolted into his underarm.
"GEHEHET *hic!* OHOHOUT *hic!* OHOHOF--!! *hic!* PLEHEHEHEASE!! *hic!*" His foot thumped quicker, arm clamped down.
"Okay.." She nodded, going back to grazing his paws.
"Ehehe-! *hic!* Hehehe!" His foot thumped, but slowed, giggling like a high schooler.
"You okay?.." She didn't want to push Jax over... besides, they just started to build trust.
"Yeheheah!- *hic!* Yeheheah, I'm fhihihine! *hic!* Ahahahaha!!" Jax seemed to laugh freely, less guarded.
"I never knew your paws were so feather sensitive..."
"Yeheheah, mehehe neheheither!" His giggles held sarcasm, but his admission made Gangle laugh.
"Ihi assumed so.." she stopped, letting him breathe.
"Y'know... I could treat you how to draw." She offered, hands folded together.
Jax hiccuped, still giggling - but nodded. "Yeheah... yeah, sure..."
He slipped down on the floor with her, Gangle grabbing some supplies.
She talked Jax through the basics... watching him struggle and make commentary out of it made her laugh.
Jax seemed more relaxed too... he was glad this did work out.
