Faewood: A Fairy Dating Simulator Game

We were trying to figure out how we wanted to color the pixie brother for @faewoodgame and i did this quick doodle to help visualize him!

The last post for our princess’s week featured different flag designs that Xan (@rookerie) is working on! There are 5 more colorations in the Patreon post. The flag is of a gardenia, symbolizing the royal family’s noble flower, and the three leaves represent the three Monarchs who have ruled Faewood.

For the third Horned Fae Week post, we previewed one of many shots of the 3D model Xan (@rookerie) is working on for the palace! They plan on using the completed model as reference for a digital painting as the actual artwork for the game! Unity wasn’t able to handle this, but water is supposed to be falling from each of the 6 posts on the edges.

The first preview for the week dedicated the the Horned Fae Princess was this full close-up of our profile picture! Art by Rowan (@electricgale). She’s basically our title character for the game, and the character whose coronation the game’s plot revolves around!

The first Faewood romanceable character we dedicated a week to was our non-binary Druidic Fairy Witch! Each of these images are a preview from each post dedicated to them for our patrons on Patreon.

They are a recluse who lives in a swampish area of the Faewood Forest, in a house built out of a giant, abandoned wasp’s nest. They spend much of their time beekeeping, gardening, and practicing magic. Posts focused on them in our Patreon look primarily at their fashion, wing design, how to tackle a sort of magically-affected arm, and a stat chart using D&D as a reference.

As will be the case for each character week, the last post hosted a naming poll! Most characters have yet to be given a name we’re 100% happy with, so we are greatly appreciating any input from our patrons.

If you would like to help us afford different equipment and software in order to create Faewood, you can become a patron here! Patrons of course get different access to pre-production content of art, music, or writing (depending on level), and anyone who is a patron of any level for just one month before September will get the game for free upon release! More info on that in the Patreon description.

I wanted to do a proper post about the #summerfaeweeks that the @faewoodgame gang and i have been putting on over on our patreon!

In order to better introduce our nine romanceable characters and begin sharing all of the concept work we have been doing, we are dedicating one week to each of our characters throughout the summer. During each week we are posting art and exploring each characters personality a bit more. So far we have done #fairyweek and #hornedfaeweek and we are currently in the middle of #centaurweek!

I’ve been forgetting to post here on Tumblr, but I’m excited to share that we have been working on sharing some focused content for each of FAEWOOD’s romanceable characters in what we have dubbed Summer Fae Weeks!

We’re currently wrapping up Horned Fae Week, so there’s a ton of content available on our princess and fairy characters for patrons of any level on our Patreon! I’m going to slowly catch up with it here on tumblr, but if you want to see it sooner, we have been making public previews for each Patreon post on our Instagram and Twitter!

The most exciting part of each week, in my opinion, is that the conclusion post for every character includes a naming poll so that we can get to know how different names vibe with those who have been getting to know the character! Definitely check it out if you can. And even if you can’t contribute to the Patreon, we love and encourage any and all comments and questions on our characters and lore!!
