all of the obits and strange police reports lead melody to this small town, it was just like the last in a string of eerily similar towns; that was until she came into the carnival and almost instantly a rabid vampire lunged and she fell to the ground. instinct kicked in and the hunter quickly swung her vervain laced brass knuckles and it connected with a loud crunch against their nose. it gave enough time for her to get up, quickly to her feet and she pulled a stake from her jacket.
he walked up to the girl with his hands up making it evident that he wasn’t there to stop her “that was bad ass, i’d be dead as shit if that would’ve been me they lunged at.” he paused for a moment before speaking again “so thanks for that”

She smiled. “The world is a big place…I’ve been around spent a lot of time in New York, chicago…the past 200 years or so I’ve been wherever the salvatore brothers have been…I was dead for a bit…long story.”
“I wish I would have seen you earlier.” she smiled at her mother frowning when she mentioned she had died “wait so you were like dead dead. like in the ground dead?”

She looked her daughter over giving a small smile. “The past is behind us, and no one expects to run into someone they thought dead.” She reassured her.
“where have you been. it just seems weird that we never crossed paths before.” she looked around making sure there was nothing bad happening around them knowing that whatever was affecting her was probably still affecting others.

she thought about it thinking about how chaotic things were when she firt first turned, and how she shouldn’t have been around any humans let alone someone she cared about “i don’t know, i understand. i just wasn’t expecting this.”

“but you chose to leave.“ she got where she was coming from deep down, and already being on edge because of what was going on didn’t help much. “I needed my mom, and you left. you could have stayed you wouldn’t have hurt me

Lexis breath caught when she said that this couldent possibly be her Maya, her sweet baby girl. “Thats… that’s how I died…you-” she started.
she took a step back not sure how to react part of her felt happy, but another part felt kind of hurt “dad was right?”

she usually didn’t talk about it, but the wound fealt so fresh right now. like she would burst if she didn’t talk about it “i don’t know i guess it’s kinda stupid, but he tricked me i thought that he was my friends and he saved me, but he just tricked me.”

“the man that turned me.” she paused thinking about him, and how much time she spent with him “we were friends once, i haven’t seen him in i don’t know how long.”

Lexi heard the girl speak and sucked in a breath. This could not be her child she had died long long ago she was sure of it. “Small world.” She said not trying to alert the girl but the pain in her voice may have given her away . “ I had a daughter once named Maya, we were separated before she was old enough to remember me” she said carefully
she bit down on her lip when she spoke thinking about how really anything could happen the way things are now “my mom died in a carriage accident or something i don’t really know what happened my dad was always weird about it.” she looked around thinking that it had to be unlikely that this was the same person, but nothing hoping, and resenting the fact that it might be.
