     she’d taken the liberty of seating herself atop the other’s dinner table, one leg crossed over the other, slowly stirring the steaming contents of her mug, “ hope you don’t mind, i let myself in. helped myself to a coffee– there’s one for you on the counter. ” and she took a sip.

     they’d never been particularly close, but they were teammates, right? that had to count for something. her first order of business was to look for mandragora, but failing that, she’d track down other members of the justice league, see if they knew any more about the place than she’s been fed. helena didn’t like relying on anyone for anything, but desperate times and all.

          “ digging the look– what’s the occasion? out for a date? ” small talk couldn’t hurt for now.

     ⌁ █ ❝ Good to see you, Huntress; if you break into my place again unannounced, however, I’ll suplex you into next week, ❞ and while the threat is uttered with a smile, the very real danger of it happening still lingers on her words. Regardless, the initial surprise of seeing a fellow League member (former or not) fades away as soon as it appeared, the Thanagarian now setting down her purse as she casts her emerald gaze back at the other.

     While she is happy, to some degree, to see the Huntress, there’s also a feeling of dread that washes over Shayera. The more heroes taken from Earth and placed into this new prison isn’t good at all and to be honest, the redhead loathes to think of what chaos is currently happening back home.

     ❝ You haven’t been here long, have you? ❞ she now asks, soon taking a pause soon after for a moment.

     ❝ And what; I can’t look nice every now and then? ❞

Event pt 2 starter for @fairfeathers!

Corvo finds the first one sprawled on the ground, its head reduced to little more than a red stain on the pavement. The second shambling beast lies a few meters away, and is similarly lacking its cranium. The third—and all the rest—were the same, their numbers growing thicker as Corvo walked down the alleyway. The butchery is workmanlike, efficient: very few of the gathered corpses seem to have taken more than one or two blows, and almost all of them lack their heads altogether.

With a flourish, Corvo collapses his blade, and slips it onto the loop on its belt. The echoey groans that were ever-present throughout Spirale had receded somewhat, at least here. Perhaps he could catch a little break, even if only for a moment.

“Good evening.” He addresses the stranger who he finds standing in the middle of a ring of corpses. Were those wings on her back? He mentally shrugs. It wasn’t the strangest thing he had seen seen. “What a mess this all is… but you seem to be doing just fine.” He pauses, studying the corpses at her feet. “It’s nice work, if you’ll allow me to be so forward.”

     ⌁ █ GRIP still tight around the handle of her Nth mace, the redhead wastes no time in whipping around immediately as she hears footsteps nearing her person once more. Instead of another onslaught of the seemingly undead, however, only a lone man standing at the other end of the alleyway comes into view of the Thanagarian. Though her handle on her weapon doesn’t ease up, Shayera does spare a moment to quirk a brow at the stranger now, verdant hues squinting slightly in suspicion for a moment.

     ❝ Thanks; not everyday someone compliments you on your ability to smash in the heads of zombies, ❞ she says dryly, tapping her mace over her shoulder for a moment as if in thought.

     ❝ Though, it seems it’s something you’re also prepared to do with that blade of yours there, ❞

     ❝ Like I said, this isn’t really... My thing, ❞ and though her words come out a bit awkwardly, there is definitely sincerity to them. In Shayera’s mind, it’s as plain as day; she doesn’t know this girl! As such, why would she have any reason to lie to her?

     ❝ And thank you; that’s surprisingly something I don’t hear too often. In any case, yes; they are real. Every Thanagarian has wings... Though, I’m guessing you’ve never heard of Thanagar. ❞
