these two shopkeepers feel like two opposite ends of the spectrum of official kiko depictions
the one on the left makes me ask 'HOW do people hate kikos', and the one on the right answers my question (although i do like its paper dolls)
the thing is, even if i prefer the art where they draw their eyes really close together, they CAN look cute with their eyes set further apart!! these ones in this neogreeting are really charming:
and this mutant one looks cute with the little snout they like to give them in recent depictions:
but then you have. these
which are actively unappealing to me.
it IS kind of fun that there's been so much style variation for them though
