little shen jiu gets transported to sy for him to take care of and raise. i'm imagining timeline wise this is sj a little after yq leaves to join a sect, long enough to experience the horrors but not with the qius for too long, and it's after the end of the novels for sy. i think binghe would be a little bit like a kid whose parents brought home a new baby, he doesn't like this mean little shizun but sy isn't falling for his crocodile tears. he is keeping him.

i really enjoy the fact that the shens are all just weirdos… people meet sy and are like “whyyyy is he like this???” and so finding out they’re All Like That is so fucking funny. bro didn’t even have a chance at being normal

it really is so adorable T-T but also explains so much about him as a person. we've all been saying he's a weirdo, there's something wrong with him (/affectionate), he has insane ideas about relationships, but all along he was just a product of his own family...

his issues with boundaries also most likely come from the same place because what do you mean his brothers took pictures of his comatose body to send to him when he woke up to prove they were there and to show their sympathy... the world doesn't stand a chance against the shen family.

shen tang revealing all these details of shen yuan's early life, from picking up stray puppies to take home, not being surprised at all he's doing it to people (shang qinghua, nobody was surprised when shen yuan just casually took a STRANGER to his vip hospital room to be treated as well??), and then her coming into the room to find shen yuan and luo binghe together, sipping coke and going "yeah, i always thought you'd end up alone, fine, i'll keep your secret" meimei???

tbf tho, this is the girl who reads danmei bdsm novels and shares it with shen yuan no issue, it's in the family, apparently. THAT SAID, the way their parents were so casual about luo binghe being a roleplayer and him calling shen yuan 'shizun', and shen yuan's brothers literally going to antarctica and the rainforest to avoid responsibility, they're all just Like That, i fear. shen yuan is NOT the outlier. the entire shen family consists of weirdos and it's lovely to see.

also, i just realized, maybe shen yuan has his extreme obliviousness from his parents because they didn't notice a thing either, didn't even question the weird cover story. meimei might have clocked bingyuan but nobody else did. poor shen tang</3

there ARE! i don't know all the details, but mxtx returned with an additional 20k of svsss content, some of which fans have roughly translated into english to share with us<3

here is a link to what has been translated - it's not complete yet, but it's really interesting to read! it's essentially a reverse-transmigration extra where they return to the real world. happy reading!

Since the revision is axing everything "problematic" by censorship law standards, my biggest fear is that the revised version will get more popular than the original/be the basis for an adaptation and we're gonna get the untamed treatment where a bunch of people who've only interacted with the defanged and consumable version of the series flood in and get really annoying and have awful takes. From what I know (and feel free to correct me) a simplified Chinese publication is happening for svsss and it's being rewritten to comply with censorship laws in China, which means the new svsss is no longer a transmigration story and probably won't have explicitly gay characters

i absolutely ADORE how it's (semi)canon now that shang qinghua thinks shen yuan is handsome, how he takes ONE (1!!) look at him and is like "you are actually handsome???? wealthy idler, playboy party-king looking cucumber???" and then calls him a scam for looking like this while also being an otaku my happy cumplane heart is BURSTING<333

a curse accidentally turns mobei-jun into a large black-blue cat that is clearly a bit on the demonic side even if his signature qi can be concealed, and for a moment shang qinghua worries immensely about bringing him to an ding peak because his king keeps batting things off the table and claiming every possible surface in the house, if his martial siblings find out he's dead!!

but then shen qingqiu for some gods forsaken reason brings a demonic bear to his peak and everyone is way too busy with that to even notice, let alone care, that shang qinghua is hauling around a massive cat that eats twice its weight in food. thank you shixiong.

shang qinghua does everything he can to make meowbei-jun comfortable, but for some reason his king keeps growling at him and he doesn't know how to fix it (mobei-jun is purring, but with his size and demonic nature it sounds like a car engine). mobei-jun keeps trying to escape while shang qinghua is working, and for some reason it only helps if shang qinghua keeps him on his lap and scratches behind his ears.

when mobei-jun does turn back he's in a foul mood. shang qinghua assumes it's because he was a cat for a week and was carried around by his servant like a pet. the actual reason is that he can't fit on shang qinghua's lap anymore.
