The creepy Euro Kinder who haunted my youth. The tragic brilliant film The Red Balloon (99 cents) commemorated in this picture book and the surreal Pippi Longstocking TV series (3.99) with no dubs or subtitles on DVD. Das ist cuckoo!!

Look at this sign I got for $3 at Goodwill. I knew it had to be hecka old when I saw the style of lettering but I haven't been able to date it exactly. What is it you wonder? It's from the betting window of a race track. It says $10 Win on the other side and it's hand painted. I don't care how much it's worth though because it's priceless to me (unless you want to give me $500 for it. Usually I am not a resale person but sometimes the thrift gods will throw you a bone.) My boyfriend Michael who wasn't really into thrifting before he met me but has since become quite smitten with it found a first printing of a book worth like $5000. Why don't I read more? I will go into book buying tips next post. I've just been dabbling on this blog so far and I've got to keep my word and make this the indispensable thrift shrine I know it can be...
