the very concept of a “work life balance“ is such a slap in the face considering how many workers are expected to deal with ridiculous commutes, having to remain professional even off the clock because they represent a company, being called in for a shift at a moments notice and having to drop everything or they’re fired, doing unpaid overtime etc etc. capitalism has never given the working class the supposed luxury of true free time or a personal life divorced of the working environment and no amount of encouraging people to organise their time better is going to make up for that
look into Decapitalism, it’s the concept that the way the world works socio-economically does not actually support captailism, but the captial investments of the few i.e. that of the billionaire rich, while making the rest believe their time, effort, and dept is worth the risk because of socially expected performance.
