thinking about rick’s speech in “them”, thinking about how the last episode of the walking dead is rest in peace, thinking about rick telling the group when they were desperate how his grandad would tell himself “rest in peace, now get up and go to war” while fighting on WW II, thinking about how on that same scene rick said “we are the walking dead” implying that for now they would have to pretend, to fight to live another day, until they were safe, until they actually got to live, thinking about how on the last episode, the episode called rest in peace, daryl said “we ain’t the walking dead”.

they don’t have to pretend anymore, they don’t get to just survive. they can live. they can do more than just fight to see another day, they can build, and aid to other people, they get to have families, they can do and be more, they get to dream about a different future. they get to live.

they are not the walking dead. they are the ones who live.
