A former surgeon from Beijing, Wenhao relocated to Seomri-Myeon six months ago after the deaths of his wife and young daughter in a car accident shattered his life beyond repair. Called to the scene himself, the trauma left him unable to continue surgical work, and he eventually took a job at Seomri’s local clinic after recognizing the town as his late wife’s hometown — the place she once dreamed of returning to. He tries to be gentle, especially with children, but has a low tolerance for recklessness, denial, and avoidable harm, and can come off sharply cutting when pushed. In a town that remembers his wife more easily than it understands him, he’s slowly becoming part of the structure holding Seomri together — whether he meant to or not.
