Gouache painting of a summer evening.
It's been a while since I actually finished something not least a cross stitch. But at last here is DMC Baby Galah hot off the hoop. DO NOT look at the back 🤣 For some reason I had so many problems with this pattern, both in terms of reading the chart and stitching it. My bad on both but I guess I need to add a magnifying glass to my cross stitch setup. I also need to learn to count because I've never had to unpick so many stitches in my life. Even when I wasn't having problems, the residual annoyance carried over and I didn't particularly enjoy myself. But on the upside, I learned not to stress about jumping huge distances between stitches, leaving thread snarls in place, and otherwise stitching through it.
Leaving the cross stitch online shop covered in blood (spent too much money)
Gorgeous new dress from @idodeclaredesign and my handknit vest from a pattern by Teti's Knit Garden.
I have finally mounted one of my finished cross stitches 🤦🏻 Seems like the fate of most of my finished projects is to linger in a drawer. It's a bit messy, and no matter how much I washed or ironed, I could not remove the faint hoop marks. Right now deciding whether to cover the sides and back with fabric or some kind of frame. But still, better than nothing!

Commemorating some of my summer holiday memories as sketches. Bush swimming!
I haven't posted much on this account lately, have I? Honestly I spent my end of year break doing other things mostly, I did not dedicate a lot of time to art or craft. But one thing I did do toward the end of last year was learn to crochet! Now to be fair I learned only a handful of stitches, but it was enough to make some items. I used a bunch of leftover yarn to make these little baskets.
Oil on canvas.

Last two pages of my watercolour pad all done! It's taken me almost a year, and I'm so happy to now be able to crack open the new paper I bought months ago 😂
Top is based on a photo I saw somewhere online, bottom is based on a photo I took while walking recently. Kind of amazing how many different landscapes I've been able to paint with a simple triad of paint tubes.
Wore my newly adjusted jacket out to buy a blåhaj
It's been a while since I've felt like painting. Got to that uncomfortable plateau where I am pretty happy with some of the art I could produce, but also very aware of my shortcomings as a watercolourist. It's nice to try something again though. This is, I guess, now the second in a series based loosely on photos I've taken while out and about in my area.

Handknits look so nice after their yearly shave, wash and reblock.
Pretty chuffed by this chalk bag I made. Based on Leila Makes' Lil Bucky Bag. Also upcycled an old broken umbrella for the interior, so it's water resistant!
