A MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISER
As we finalise the evaluation report for 22 Panels 2014, we draw a close on a lively programme of comic art activities. I am very proud of what last year’s 22 Panels Comic Art Show was able to achieve with the support of Arts Council England; from the V For Vendetta exhibition to the Graphic Novel Man screening; an impressive 10 engaging workshops and talks; a buzzing art fair with 14 lovely guests from across the UK - all in the picturesque little town of Falmouth!
I couldn’t have managed this without the help of my colleagues at the Poly Falmouth, a small of team of volunteers (all friends and family!), the wonderful exhibitors who booked stalls at the fair and the creators who made the long trip to Falmouth to be a part of 22 Panels. I am delighted that 22 Panels 2014 turned out exactly how I intended it to be - a friendly, social and creative event, celebrating comics, for fans, creators and the community.
Sadly, there is currently very little time in the Poly’s increasingly busy events calendar to devote to an event of this size and I have very little free time to undertake this massive project outside of work; as such there will be no 22 Panels Comic Art Show this year. I hope to bring 22 Panels back in the future and will keep it active as a promoter of illustration and comic book creativity in the meantime.
Thank you to everyone for your support over the past three years, I hope to see you soon!
Nicholas Heartland, Event Organiser
