Rime ice. Mount Bachelor.
Idaho ski.
Ponderosa pine in winter
Icy morning by the river.
The sun broke through just long enough. Final peak on "W" hike.
Los Glaciares National Park was my favorite place - fewer people, lush flowers and shrubs, remote glaciers, unusual birds.

The second trek of our trip took us to Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. Bus from El Chalten to Puerto Natales, get more supplies, bus to the park, catamaran to beginning of the trek on the west side of the park. This map is a close approximation of our days there. We had wonderful weather, except for one afternoon and night of rain. Amazing!
A recap of the first trek we completed in Patagonia helps put this in perspective now that we are home and have better internet access. After flying from Boise, Idaho to Buenos Aires and then to El Calafate, we took a bus to El Chalten. You can just pack up your backpack in your hotel room there and take off hiking! Four days of hiking here.
