@familiarsol
sabrinaxsinger:
“I mean at this point,” she nodded in agreement pushing a bottle towards him. “Cheers to…hopefully something better.” She offered with a shrug.
“Other than being with my master I can’t imagine anythin’ better.” Sol sighed, leaning his chin atop a paw while tracing the cold beer with his claws casually. “Maybe school being back in session. A can of tuna.”
“Typically, I don’t drink, but after all this craziness.” Sabrina nodded as she took a sip. “Seems like we could use it don’t you think? Want one?”
“What could it hurt?” Famous last words. Sol still climbed up to sit on the bar stool, already amused,
alisavilkuna:
Alisa hadn’t even noticed the familiar that was close to her until he spoke. “I couldn’t agree with you more,I mean it’s not fair that vampires are getting the blame. It might not be a vampire,I have a feeling it has to be somebody powerful.”
“To be frank, I don’t know too much about blood suckers, but magic ain’t something one of you guys can just pick up. Same as a human, right?” Some were endowed with a single special ability, perhaps two to pair beside their ageless appearance and enhanced durability, but besides celestial’s very few could manage it all. No matter how ancient. “There’s nothing for it; doing this to a town that’s been kicked one too many times. Unless it’s all meant to be a distraction for something bigger.” That was more his master’s way of thinking.
The news still hadn’t sunk in for Alisa, the news of the innocent vampires being burned because people suspected vampires of contaminating the water of the town made her angry. However, she wasn’t letting that anger show, but instead she showed sadness as she sat in the park on the cloudy morning. The vampires that were burned were customers at her bar and she had got to know them well,it just broke her heart that she could never see them again. “Who could do such a thing.”She said, her voice reflecting the sadness that was on her face.
“It’s insanity...” Sol replied in a mutter while shaking his bristly head. Dark days left memorable marks for the familiar, chaos he’d wrought beside his master and taken pleasure in, but any hero or black spot in this town could agree. The vengeful murder was atrocious and unforgivable. A mockery in the face of vampires and all supernaturals as a whole. How could any of them feel safe? “had to ‘ve been something powerful--with magic.” Then again, many had dropped their guard around town enough to be swayed by a weaker beast.
clementbutler:
“Disney would kill for the opportunity to have an actual talking raccoon. They’d stick you in a live action Mulan film in a heart beat.” Clement could picture it now, Sol scratching the living heck out of some exec in a stiff black suit. “I’m always itching to get a non-believer such as yourself into my door, indulging the fantasy all priests have of converting an atheist.” He wasn’t sure if calling Sol an atheist was out of line or not, but the raccoon certainly wasn’t aligned with the church.
He didn’t like the bazaar, no matter that it certainly would win him some new visitors. “The last thing Klamenth needs right now is more mischief. Faith is the only thing that keeps me convinced this place isn’t doomed.”
“I’d sell my soul first--unless they gave me Stitch. I could rock that.” Gag worthy, the idea wasn’t actually all that bad. It didn’t take but two seconds to realize why his master hadn’t thought of it first. Still, good money, but with Atticus Sol didn’t feel like a slave or pet used for others entertainment. He smirked when Clement labeled him with such a word, “‘suppose I’ve never had much time to think on stuff like that. I believe in people and magic...” His master. Among other themes.
“I believe in you too, Clem.” A vote of confidence, but it was the sort a fist to the shoulder would produce. “Hm. Doomed; is it really so bad?”
clementbutler:
“If you’re ever looking for a second career, I think you’d do well in the theater.” He found Sol’s snark more amusing than irritating, as always. “Careful now, that sounded a bit like a compliment, for which I thank you. Feel free to swing by my next mass, and I’ll wear something special just for you.”
“Theater.” Besides a few of Atticus’ schemes involving a couple actors, Sol had little experience with the stage. He’d heard certain people go gaga over the magic of Broadway musicals but would only feel comfortable stomaching such an experience with a person who wasn’t as enthusiastic. “I doubt I’d get too many lead roles, but if I can sit in a fake tree for pay I’ll do it.”
“You must really be desperate for those numbers, Clem, but I wager you’ll see a lot more people when their luck runs out at the bazaar. The big guy upstairs is always the first to be blamed.”
mxninthemirror:
“I just really like fish,” he said, his hand instantly on the back of his neck. “Maybe you have a point. Sometimes I just think what life would be like if I were a fish. But maybe I’d be stuck in a fishing net, so it’s not like things would be different.” He paused to gaze down at the animal before kneeling to level his face. “Wait, they didn’t turn you into an animal, did they?”
“You ain’t stuck in a net.” Sol said while tilting his head and squinting both eyes in a confused expression. “Or is this a new metaphorical saying the kids are spreading around?“
“Hm!” He folded both arms over his chest and his tail curled toward his back. “Could ask you a similar question, guppy, but no. I am a raccoon, was a raccoon, will forever be a raccoon.”
clementbutler:
“Perhaps you’ll be treated to a Kafka-esque experience and have to live as both.” When Sol wasn’t straddling the line between crass or gruff, the raccoon was unbearably adorable. “I’m hurt you don’t think we’re of equal cuteness.” Clement joked, slipping comfortably into a bright smile.
“Both? Now that is a cruel fate, Clement! Look, my hair’s standing on end just thinking about it.” Though the critical reference was lost to the familiar who’d missed out on that particular bed time story. “I guess your black gown uniform is kinda cute, or that shiny white one ya keep for special occasion. Makes ya stand out of the humie crowd at least.”
thegeniesoraya:
The genie smiled at the outburst. But of course he was a little prince! The humans were blind not to see that. “True. Besides those creatures are not very nice, they do not care for others’ well being.” Soraya listened and titled their head. “I am a little animal in my true form, would I receive this donation?”
“How’d you hear about ‘em?” He asked with an obnoxious tone but warm eyes filled with interest. Knowledge of cruel imps came with a familiar’s territory, though Sol wouldn’t say those creatures were anywhere near as cruel as his master. “No way.” Appearance, and smell, deceived him for once. “‘guess it depends. Are you a dog or cat?”
sabrinaxsinger:
“Well I don’t know,” she nodded thoughtfully as she looked down at him and folded her arms across her chest. “Stranger things have happened, right?”
“I s’ppose. This town has yet to see strange if you ask me. Only the tip of the iceberg.”
thegeniesoraya:
“You already look prince like to me,” the genie stated, their hand lightly running through the fur in between his ears. “But no, little prince, it would not work. Not if it is from that bazaar.”
“Finally! Someone says it.” Sol shouts before simmering down at the simple pat. “Hm. Well, if I’m already prince material there’s no need to waste spare change. Maybe I’ll donate to our lil animal shelter instead.” Immediately after making the statement, a laugh followed, though there was little chance of someone other that Sol getting the humor.
clementbutler:
“I think you’d end up turning into a cockroach instead, dear friend. The imps would see it was a grand joke.” He had altered his role as a bystander to the buying and using of the spells, to gently persuading anyone he could not to give in. “Is anything you can buy for a penny, in 2017, going to be good?”
“Ick. I don’t know what would be worse--to actually be one of you humies or morph into a roach. Both balled and pathetic.” Sol let out a hoarse snicker at his own bad insult. “Certainly. A penny would go far if you’re cute as me. Play a bit of Sarah McLaughlin in the background.”
mxninthemirror:
“A penny? Is it really that cheap? So, if they can turn you into a human, can they turn me into a fish or a bird? Or is that not how it works.”
Sol barked a laugh, “Oh. Pal, I’m sure they could--but the chances of me turning out hairless and you becoming a newt or just as likely. Why a fish though? A fish? Really? Out of every critter you could choose from. At least my kind can swim and come with opposable thumbs.”
celeste-lesauvage:
“So instead of a kiss, like in those fairytales, you’ll just need one of their magical potions? Oh Soleil, you’re too funny. Are you planning on actually buying these things?” Celeste looked over at the raccoon. “I need to get a specific crystal that they should have, I could accompany you. If you’d like. C'est à toi de decider,” she said, leaving the decision to him.
“Nah. Even if one of them promised on their life I’d get turned into a humie-shape I wouldn’t take it. You all look pretty, sure, but so naked. I wouldn’t know what to do with myself without fur.” Or a muzzle and his whiskers and refined senses. Bad deal. Folding both arms, he listened intently before his lips raised to the gum line in a nasty looking smile he only shared with those who wouldn’t deny his true self. “We’ll get ya that crystal, I’d for sure like to see some of this business go down. It would be fun.”
