“Look at the puppy getting upset. You’re so cut when you get to yapping” Dan smirked. Wiping his face he smacked Aaron hard enough to make the man’s face turn “No need to be disrespectful. Last thing you want to do is piss me off”
Feeling his face get knocked to the side he winced. He would definitely be feeling that pain later on. “You’ve gone way passed pissing me off Dan. I’ll make sure you’re strung up for this.”

Stepping back at the sight of the knife he shook his head and quickly disarmed Aaron and threw the knife to the floor. “You can try and act like I won’t get what I want” he sat Aaron back down  “Let’s make it simple. You tell me and you and your guys are put in a car and sent home”

One would hope…but it’s not always that simple. Unfortunately the two biggest sources of my drama have been my brother and baby daddy, and I can’t really just move away from them and be done with it. But I’ve…reduced…maybe…
The one and only, he’s my brother.
Sounds like we both have some crazy in our lives. Though Baby daddy may take the cake. Adoption?

Oh, that sucks. I’m pretty lucky to have a dad that was firm, wise, but not overbearing.
I wouldn’t say that exactly, but I hate how much of my life and energy I let the place take. I had no life/work balance, and I was frequently all wrapped up in the everyday drama that went on.Â
When you’re an Arjona you tend to get used to overbearing.
Well now that you’re out of the biz, maybe you can have a personal life. Without all of the drama.

“Hey,language!” Dan scolded “I’m sure your mother raised you better than that,but to answer your question it wasn’t your drink. It was the rim of your glass” He watched as Aaron fumbled with his weapon and chuckled as the gun fell to the floor. “I’m sure you will,but seeing as how I have at least 10-12 hours before that happens I figured we could talk,you and I” He ran his fingers through the dark curls of the youngest Arona  “For starters,I need to know your stash houses. I have a very strong suspicion your brother is hiding something very important to me in one of them”
“Fuck you” Aaron groaned as he leaned onto the desk. His body to weak to stand correctly. “I’m not telling you shit.” He frowned as he reached into the waist band of his underwear. Pulling out a blade he stumbled over to the Don, fully intent on stabbing the male in the side.

Thank you, sir. I use a good moisturizer as well. [he shrugs] Maybe; some of them. I left almost a year ago… Damn, that’s weird to realize.
But it was my whole life for a long time; sunk a lot of time and energy into that place. [takes a rueful and almost spiteful bite of his cone]
I left a couple of months ago, Something about having to be taught the way of the world by daddy dearest. [He snickers bitterly.]Â

Yes, agree. Although you’ll occasionally catch me by the pool tryin to enrich this melanin. [he gestures to the skin on his face] Oh! The Chelsea, really, that’s awesome. [sticks out his hand, switching the grip on his cone to do so] I’m Lincoln, I used to be the executive manager there.Â
Well you’ve been doing a great job at it. Your complexion is perfection. [He smiled and looked at the male. Shaking the males hand he grinned.] Ah so you must know all of the people who still live there. [He chuckled.] It’s a great place.

[lincoln returns the smile easily, sliding down a little to give him some room] It is! It’s a healing sort of warmth, when it’s not sticky and miserable yet. And the streets don’t yet reek of garbage. [takes a cool bite] You live around here?
I stay inside when it gets that hot. It’s the perks of having a great place to live. [he smiled and took another spoonful of ice cream.]Yeah I live in the Chelsea. Names Aaron.

“Daniel?” he repeats in amusement “I must have struck a nerve if you’re using the full name. He sat his arms on the desk and listened to the younger man sounding so earnest “Forced?” he asked “you mean by gunpoint? Because something tells me that may not be a hundred percent true,but hey,who knows” A thrill ran through him as he saw Aaron takes his drink right before the first guard fell and he stood “You can call me Daniel” then sitting on the edge of the desk he cups Aaron’s face “Now we can really talk”
“You sun of a bitch....What did you put in my drink?” Aaron groaned as he watched as his vision blurred. His men falling like flies one after the other. His head pulsed as he tried his best to not black out. “Fuck you!.” He growled as he reached for his gun. Standing up he aimed at the male only to drop it. The weight of the weapon too much for his altered mindset. “i’ll i’ll kill you.”

“Let’s be honest hot stuff” Dan started “if you really wanted out of this life it isn’t impossible,but you’re like all of us. It’s who you are and as much as you try to deny it a part of you loves it” Fingers going around the rim of his glass he nods “Sounds like you have it all figured out” he said “wish I was that smart at your age. To just know that money is the most important thing in the world and it’s all needed to buy someone’s loyalty” Then out the corner of his eyes he could see the three men take small sips from their glasses.
“I’m not a bag of chips. Call me by my name Daniel.” He sassed as he looked at the other. “Who wouldn’t love the power,  The respect that comes with it. It’s great. I just don’t like that I was forced in to it. All I wanted to do was music and football.” He sighed. “Well i’m sure everything was a lot different in the stone age.” He replied and took the shot. Immediately regretting it as he let it slide down his throat. The smallest of his guards dropping at the door. “You little shit.”

“I like how you think you’re somehow not a part of this. It runs through blood just as much as anyone else in your family. A nice suit and job title doesn’t change that” He turned and made the other drinks and walked them over to hand to each man as he continued to talk to Aaron “You talk so casually about murdering someone Mr. Lawyer,but you’re still young. It shows in how you handle your people” He takes a drink from his glass and nods for the other men to do the same “One of the things you have to learn that if you treat the people who are here to keep you safe like employees they will only treat you like a boss”  He picked up Aaron’s glass and handed it to him “And believe me,there is always another boss out there. If they don’t care about you then you might as well be out there on your own”
“I know very well about blood. Blood is the only reason i’m in this situation. If I was he son of a baker, i’m sure my life would be a lot more peaceful.” He chuckled and looked at the male. “If someone is stupid enough to torture and kidnap my brother, and then not kill him. Then they have it coming to them. As for my employees, they are paid well. I doubt anyone will give them what my family has given them. And if they do, then I was out played. Besides whiskey does’t buy a mans respect.”

“A guy with a good head on his shoulders” Dan said “that’s rare to find in this line of work” He can’t help the smirk that come on his face at the mention of Dalton “Your older brother always did seem like the impulsive type. Jumping into things head first,but I’m sure wherever he is I’m sure he’s managing to survive  one way or another” Pointing to the glass in front of Aaron he chuckles “Unless of course you aren’t a whiskey man then I can get you a scotch” Pulls out three more glasses “Have your men come join. No need to have them standing there like statutes. I think we know I’m not going to try anything”
“Well thats because you mobsters tend to think with your guns, and the head thats below your shoulders.” He chuckled. “This is a business, if things go south, that means my way of living does as well. I’m simply making sure I survive.” He looked at the male. “Speaking of surviving, i’m sure he’s doing fine. I have men tracking him now though, I don’t really like being in charge. If he’s been kidnapped, will kill his kidnapper and move on.” Shaking his head again he smiles. “Whisky is fine. As for them, they are my employees, men who have been paid largerly to put their lives on the line for me, so they don’t get to sit and drink. Besides I can’t have them thinking they are worth anything more than soldier, expendable men.” Yes, Aaron has been turned cold, but you had to be that way to survive this world.Â

Dan looked at the three men and cocked his head to the side “So,do you just take them everywhere with you?” he asked “can’t imagine that’s all that convenient when it comes to your job. You being so good at it and all” He sits down and takes a sip of his drink “I’ve done the whole there will be blood thing with your brother” he told Aaron “it’s hell on the voice,speaking of,it’s amazing how similar you two are. All that bluster and showmanship. How is he by the way?”
“Only when i’m walking into a lions den.” He smirjed and shook his head. “And don’t underestimate me. Because I could do my job with a bomb strapped to my chest. Given my name, it’s obvious why I need bodyguards.” He watched the male drink his drink and sighed. “He’s probably up to his ears in cobra tequilla and lady boys. Wasting dads money. That or he’s gotten kidnapped again. Either way i’m in charge while he’s gone. So you can see why I may be behaving like my father. Because that is who we get it from.” He crossed his legs and leaned back. “Aren’t you going to fix me a drink?”

Dan picked up the folder once again and gave it a cursory glance “You know if I didn’t know any better I’d think you believed you had a chance at whatever bullshit this is” he smiled and stood up to make a drink “When I tell you to sit it’s really not a suggestion,so please,no need to make this ugly” Sitting one glass down on the table in front of Aaron he took a sip “I’ll tell you what. I’ll have my lawyers look over it and if they feel like it’s worth cutting a check I’ll consider it” he told the younger man.  “Only after you sit for a drink so we can catch up”
Aaron smirked. “I do, I’m damn good at my job Featherstone.” He cocked a brow as he looked at the male. “I don’t take threats well Dan. But i’m not in the mood to cover up a blood bath either.” He turned to look at his men who had already had their hands on their guns. “Trigger happy those three are.” Waving them off and having them close the door he sat down. “Is there really anything for us to catch up on Dan?”

“You know,funny enough I have been told my humor is one of my best qualities” he said as he looked over Aaron “look at it bringing a smile to your face” Picking up the piece of paper he glaces at it “What happened? Did I run over your bike or something? I’m sure this can all get settled without dealing with courtrooms” Looking up at Aaron he gestures to the seat across from him “Sit”
“Well what can I say. Clowns make me smile.” He chuckled once more and shook his head. “I’ll stand. You’re being sued for the destruction of our carrying freights, the damage of personal property and the cost of reconstruction due to your men, and I do use the word lightly.” Sure what Aaron was referring to was drugs and transportation. But he was good enough to make this all look legal. “I’m good at my job, so you should just pay whats on the paper, if we go to court, i’ll take more.”

[lincoln sits on a bench outside The Chelsea, face turned toward the warm sun, that has broken through the clouds only half an hour before, a relief compared to the storms that have been flooding the streets all morning. He occupies himself with a strawberry, soft-serve froyo cone, taking long licks complacently, humming a little at the taste]
[Aaron had walked from the fro yo shop to the  sidewalk. Breathing in the fresh air as he spooned his sundae into his mouth. Grinning from ear to ear he nods at the male as he sits next to him.] It’s beautiful out today.
